SmartShopper Electronics, LLC., makers of the innovative voice activated shopping assistant, announced today a new retail price for its SmartShopper units. Effective today, this indispensable kitchen gadget will be available for $99.99.

“Our product has really gained traction in the marketplace and our volume has increased significantly,” said Rick Brindisi, president and co-founder of SmartShopper. “This has allowed us to bring the retail cost down and make this fabulous product more affordable for many households across the U.S.”

The SmartShopper is a voice-activated shopping assistant that uses Nuance voice recognition software to keep track of items and errands users need to pick up on their next visit to the supermarket. Designed with an attractive, brushed metal front and only about the size of the palm of the hand, the SmartShopper is an attractive addition to any kitchen and can be magnetically adhered to most refrigerators, wall mounted or simply kept on the kitchen counter top. It operates on four standard AA batteries, uses thermal paper for easy maintenance (no ink cartridges to replace) and is quite easy to operate.

How does it work? – Users simply walk up to it the unit, press the RECORD button and say the name of an item they want from the store on their next visit. The item is then added to a running list, which is displayed in large, easy to read text on the LCD. Items can be set with quantity or flagged with a coupon to help the user remember when at the store. Errands can also be added in the same fashion. When the user is ready to shop, they simply press “print” and the list comes right out of the unit! Best of all, the printed list is categorized for you by the section in the supermarket… deli, produce, frozen foods, spices, etc. The SmartShopper comes pre-programmed with 2,500 items and allows users to add their own unique items and brands to the master library.

The SmartShopper is available at Brookstone, Amazon.com as well as directly from the company at smartshopperusa.com.
