Upcoming shooter Rage delayed because of Xbox 360

The all new upcoming post-apocalyptic shooter game called Rage is being held back thanks to the “I have not a lot of Storage” Xbox 360.

id’s Rage is coming out on 3 platforms, the PS3, PC and Xbox 360, so why is Rage being held back again? Well it all comes down to storages issues surround the 360; this is not a problem on the PlayStation 3 or the PC.

Rage is the all new and first game to use the brand spanking new id Tech 5 engine, the game has to be played around with and will be re-designed all because of the Xbox 360.

We know that the PS3 has around 25GB, the PC is obviously limited but the Xbox 360 only has 6 to 8 GB of data. The hope is that the makers can get the new game onto two discs for the 360, but this is going to be a squeeze.

Wow Mark, I didn’t think this site was usually fanboyish… I guess there is one in every bunch.

Watch the game be a steaming pile, therefor solidifying that just cause the game’s huge, doesn’t mean it’s any good.

id Software is garbage now. DOOM3 was disappointing, Quake 4 sucked, and they’re doing ANOTHER shooter. Big whoop, not caring.

fanboyish he just saying the truth. If xbox do not stop charging developers more for game that are on more than 2 disks this is going to happing more often

If the game has to be redesigned at this stage it shows more about the dev company being rubbish in their planning. The limitations of the 360, PS3 and PC have never changed, so why should this be a problem now?

Having a game on 2 DVD’s isn’t a big issue, seeing the Autumn update will allow people to rip games to their 360’s HD. Anything over that seems a bit excessive to the point of being pointless…

What would you need all that space for? Hours of endless cut-scenes that bore the average gamer? Making the game so huge that most people won’t even come close to finishing it?

Thank you Matty, finally a post from someone with a brain. Byron, the guy even said that MS doesn’t charge per dvd… Everyone that reads this fanboy article, read Matty’s comment along with – understanding the leaps and bounds they are continuously making with Compression. And when PS3’s graphics card can compare with or outdo the 360’s… even though the 360 came out a year sooner and should be more outdated… somebody let me know. :)

i love these xbox fanboys trying to defend their systems.. why have 6 dvd disc when u can have i br disc or why u have to use compression technology when u can have raw materials coming out of a br disc… common sense here, more storage= bigger and better games… i bet u the next xbox will adopt a bluray drive…

  7. bandolero says:

@BLAKE first 360’s card be the best in the world but it need also a good cpu that been said ps3 card is also customize for the cell processor the problem here is ignorant fanboys that don’t know anything about gpu’s will start a flamewar with out a facts so main source is google.com i’ll make it short ps3 is design to run cpu + gpu and the ram access memory is better than 360 do to the fact that (xdr)is more efficient and flexible plus cell doesn’t need alot of memmoy now blueray is a handy tools as well as hdd that been said the ps3 becomes more of a beast
