STOUGHTON, Mass., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ — In a white paper announced today, Beagle Research Group, LLC founder and managing principal Denis Pombriant called on the software industry to develop and enhance technologies that can reduce corporate energy use and create greater customer intimacy.

The white paper, “Peak Oil & Sustainability: CRM’s Potential Impact,” is available as a free download from http://www.beagleresearch.com/. The paper makes ten recommendations that involve new or emerging software solutions that companies can use to reduce the need for travel and other energy use.

“The recent spike in fuel prices combined with the growing understanding of Peak Oil and how our carbon footprints affect climate leads us to recommend automation strategies that help reduce energy use associated with many front office business processes,” Pombriant said. He went on to say, “We see many emerging technologies with great potential for both eliminating unnecessary travel and increasing customer intimacy, which we believe are essential to maintaining and expanding customer relationships leading to increased revenues.”

Paul Greenberg, author of “CRM at the Speed of Light,” said, “Denis Pombriant has a knack for spotting industry turning points. He was the first to call on-demand technology a disruptive innovation and the first to point out the importance of on-demand platform technology. Now he’s telling us to pay attention to energy use in our front office business processes and I am certainly going to.”

“We do not think this is an exhaustive list of suggestions,” Pombriant said, “but we firmly believe that the time to get started on a path to lower business travel and greater customer intimacy is now.”
