Zune 3.0 firmware and iPod Classic Genius Update
Filed under: News, Portable Music Players

Microsoft and Apple released many updates to the Zune and iPod series over the last few days, so just for good measure here are some more for you.
The second-gen Zunes will be getting the Zune 3.0 firmware update which will enable Buy From FM, WiFi music store features and channels, Apple on the other hand at the Recent Lets Rock Event said to CNET that the iPod Classic will get the Genius update (Genius Playlist).
Now we all know that Genius is a brand new feature, so to see something new going onto something old is pretty good when you think about it, oh and for good measure as far as we can see Apple are not going to charge you for it.

“The second-gen Zunes will be getting the Zune 3.0 firmware…”
From the zuneinside.com link you provided:
“Whether you’ve been with us since day one with a Zune 30 or are just heading to the store for a new blue Zune 8, you’ll be able to have all of the new features via a firmware update.”
For me Apple copy a lot of things from Zune… Like the Now Playing display, and the turn to watch videos…
iTunes 8 copy Zune too, there are some things in the new mode of using it that are exactly like using a Zune device
