Palm Treo Pro Verizon Release

Many Palm phone fans are waiting for a CDMA version of the Palm Treo Pro so they can use the cell phone on the Verizon network.

This may not be long according to a rumor from Cens.com, they are reporting that there will be a Palm Treo Pro Verizon release soon. Plans are apparently being made for a code division multiple access version of the Pro.

This version will be supplied by HTC and by supported by Sprint and Verizon service providers. If this becomes true, then we will see a return to dual CDMA/GSM version Palm phones. We are also hearing that Verizon Wireless may pass on the Treo 800w for the CDMA version of Treo Pro, we will update you if we get a release date.

    Any update on this? I’ve been waiting FOREVER to upgrade my Treo 700wx.

    I agree. I’d like to know if there’s any updated info on this. I’m happy to finally have the WM 6.0 upgrade (still waiting on 6.1) for my Verizon Wireless Treo 700wx, but I’ve been using this device since Jan ’06. I’m iching for an upgrade.

    Please update us asap when you hear something. I’ve been stuck on this 700p forever and want a real phone. I’m stuck with palm because I’ve not seen any planner/contact/calendar software on the fancy phones that comes close to iambic’s agendus premier. so until the others get some better software for the most important software on a business phone–the calendar/email application–I’m stuck with Palm. The TREO Pro will be my salvation….

    Agreed, I am waiting with baited breath for the Treo Pro to hit Verizon; my 700w (yes that’s right, not even the wx) is definitely getting very crusty.

    Best idea i’ve seen for the ‘business’ user recently – and my old palm treo just keeps getting older, and older… I’m beginning to feel like the poor guy/fly caught in the spider’s web in the movie “The Fly”. Helllp Meeeee……. Please let us know the update on this phone and when Verizon is going to make it available to us.

    I have you all beat. I a still using the 650. Flirted with the iphone and even blackberry but the treo works best for my needs. Please update.

    I must say that the Palm Treo Pro looks by far the best, sexiest Treo I’ve seen. I’ve always liked Palm, and I think if I ever went with a Palm device it would definitely be with the Treo Pro on Verizon.

    I just hope Verizon doesn’t strip out the Wi-Fi or do anything stupid like that.

    I too am stuck with my 700w and having serious envy with all the new phones out there. Does anyone know if the unlocked version works on the Verizon network?

    I was speaking with a verizon rep today and they told me they have the treo pro on the magical promo sheet. I would expect the phone before the end of February. No indications of price yet, I would guess between $249-$299.

    lost my treo 700w back in Nov – went to blackberry storm and switched back to treo – Not sure why Palm flounders – they really have a superior product line

    I broke down and got the BB Storm a few months ago. I’m actually pretty impressed with it. Lots of capability, and I’ve gotten quite used to the touch screen. Typing is definitely a little slower than it is on a physical keyboard but it’s acceptable to me. Only things I really wish it had are WiFi and an external SD slot (it has one inside the battery cover pre-populated with an 8GB Micro SDHC out of the box).

    I just couldn’t wait around anymore since it was apparent Verizon had no intentions of releasing a new Treo anytime soon. I considered the Samsung Saga, but the company wouldn’t spring for one of those when Verizon was running buy one get one free with the Storm.

    It is ironic how when you really want something such as the Treo Pro, availability is not there. I have been with Verizon for 10 years not looking to change, but they are not willing to help me get this phone. So should I change. Corporate mentalities are not the greatest sometimes. They are more worried about making a dollar more and not making their customers happy.

    I have officially just converted back to my old Treo wx. I was in the mood for a new phone and purchased the Samsung Omnia and it sucked. I would rather deal with my trusty treo as opposed to the clumsy Omnia. PLEASE get me a new treo on the Verizon Network!!!!

    Andrew, I made the same mistake. Bought the Samsung Omnia and returned it 20 days later. I turned on the treo again and was back in business. Anyone know when verizon is going to offer a new treo line?

    I’m about to switch to Alltel so I can get the Treo Pro… Does it make a difference? I’m with verizon now and my plan is up…

    Of course they will, Verizon cripples all their phones, its their signature.

    I want this phone but can’t find any new information on when and if Verizon will offer it.

    I don’t really want to switch to Sprint and not sure I want to go to a Blackberry (Tour) due to operating system, etc.

    Where can we find more information re: Palm Treo Pro for verizon.
