New Thinnest iPod Nano: Accelermoter from touch and iPhone
September 9, 2008 | Filed under Electronics, Portable Media Players

This is the new thinnest Apple iPod Nano that has an accelerometer just like the iPod touch and iPhone. It has exactly the same display, but it’s the thinnest iPod ever made. It’s an oval shape, and it fits in with the line.
It’s quite small, extremely thin! Engadget reports that it almost vanishes when Steve Jobs turns it on its side. “You’ll be blown away with how thin it is.”
Features include a new curved aluminum design with curved glass and enhanced UI with new features. They’ve taken the accelerometer from the touch and iPhone and it does some great things, and you can use the Genius function on the iPod.”
Songs are displayed in a touch / iPhone manner, you can turn it sideways and you’re in coverflow with full size album art (again with photos). Video is fantastic, you can shake to shuffle and also push and hold the center button for a popup menu.
The new iPod nano gets 24 hours battery life for music, and 4 hours for video. They will come in super bright colors (bright blue, purple, orange, green, pink), the entry price of $149 will be for the 8GB (in stock within a few days), $199 for the 16GB (in stock by weekend).
