PSP-3000 screen improved, thirsty on power so Sony suggest purchase larger battery

Sony’s US director of hardware marketing John Koller was discussing the new PSP-3000 with GameSpot, in the interview he talks about the advantages and disadvantages of the new PSP-3000 and what they have been concentrating on to improve from the older version.

The most prominent feature they are working on is the screen, they are improving the screen so they the images are much more vibrant and crisper, the new PSP-3000 screen will also make it a better gaming experience when using outside in the sunlight. The downside to these improvements is that the Battery life will lose about 20 minutes of playtime, as the new screen needs more juice than the old screen.

Luckily for all you serious gamers who think paying any extra to get the full gaming experience then you will be glad to know that you will be able to purchase the extended battery that is still available for consumers, so they will get eight-to-ten hours out of the battery.

So to re-cap, the regular battery life will be diminished, but it is possible for you to purchase a larger better battery to extend your gaming time.

I remember reading that the CEO or whoever at Sony had said the battery life will be the same because they also improved the overall power dain of the PSP to make up for the difference, of corse that could be a bunch of crap, whatever
