Is the Xbox 360 reaching its limit?
By: Daniel Chubb | September 3, 2008 | Leave a CommentIn a world that technology is moving and the fastest pace ever, we question developers in the world of gaming to see if they have reached their peak. The Xbox 360 is a pretty advanced platform, has it reached its capabilities? if we look at the gaming platform like a learning curve, when a new gaming platform starts the developers are for the first time at the bottom of the curve, and of course they are in a mad panic to get the first game out soon after the platform launches.
So if you think about it using that concept the early games on a new platform should be better than the best games on the previous platform, as time moves on the developers are able to creep up the learning curve to the top, obviously the speed in which this happens would depend on the complexity of the platform architecture.
It’s said that the Microsoft Xbox 360 has very good development tools which have been accessible from the beginning as well as a pretty straightforward system to work on. So it would be expected for developers on the Xbox 360 to get to optimum performance fast. Although everything is moving very quickly, the developers keep improving the games, so there is no real answer as to when the game is at its optimum. But one thing for sure is that the developers keep pushing the bar and creating new endless developing limits for the Xbox 360 and other gaming platforms.
