It is a big week for Electronic Arts, as their new game Spore is released. The video game is one of the most talked about titles of the year, and the game developer are hoping that Spore will be better than good.
EA have now been losing money for six quarters now, the main problem was caused by their longtime strategy of turning out sequels for their Madden football game. Spore is now vital to the future of Electronic Arts.
It is a big gamble, one that EA are unsure of. Although Spore does promise a lot, you have to remember that is more than a year late, and gamers are not happy about that. We will just have to see what the future waits for Electronic Arts.

EA might do better if it didn’t anger many of its customers by including Sony’s SecuROM DRM, online activation requirements, and limited activations in their products. I’m looking forward to another gamer demographic becoming exposed to EA’s DRM strategy in Spore, and deciding to join the boycott of their future products.
