This is the new ultra-thin Samsung X360 laptop, and it’s not only going to take on the Apple MacBook Air but it can also win easily.
First up, if you prefer Windows Vista when compared to Mac, the Samsung X360 is an easy choice but when you look at the features it also beats the Mac Air hands down.
The Samsung X360 notebook comes with a massive 100GB Solid State Disk (SSD), Intel Core Duo processor, a big keyboard, 3 USB’s, a VGA out and HDMI port for hooking up to HDTV’s. The weight is less at 1.27 Kilos compared to the MacBook Airs 1.36 Kilos.
As a person looking to upgrade my portable computing to a MacBook Air, it looks like I have now been converted and will wait until later this year when the Samsung X360 is released for around £1,200.
The main reason for this is the massive battery life of 10 hours; this is ideal and much longer than other laptops currently in local computers stores. Watch a video of the laptop below.

Air has much stronger and robust body compared to x360 (it is aluminum compared to plastic the reason for difference in weight) second AIR got much faster graphic with the new NVIDIA 9400M and a faster processor (Samsung compromised performance for battery life)
Rohit, while this is true, the Air suffers from extremely poor connectivity, has lower battery life, less RAM, and in the coming months will most likely have the higher price range. Maybe for the Apple addicted consumer, the Air would be appealing. However, for the budget conscious professional who needs a Windows machine with the extra ports and the average consumer, the X360 will most likely prevail.
Think about it, for general purposes, the Samsung is going to do just about the same job just as well. The Air was not meant to be high performance, and neither was the X360. So what do you need those higher specs in the Air for? It’s just Apple being showy so they can charge extra but ultimately, I believe the Samsung is the superior option if you are not partial to the Mac OS X.
