Best Western has increased online security worries

The security breach with Best Western was massive; Eight million customers of the hotel chain had their credit card details stolen by an Indian hacker last week. He had ties to the Russian mob; this loot would have been worth about £2.8 billion to the mob.
For this kind of data to fall into the wrong hands would have set of a huge European crime wave. The Herald has put it simple “This is the greatest cyber-heist in world history.”
You have to ask yourself the question how safe is your details in the hotel you are staying in? For years now I have been staying at hotels and keeping my credit card open, which I then settle at the end of my stay. This has now made me think is this the right thing to do.
It seems that we all have some tough choices to make.
