Dead Rising Comparison: Nintendo Wii vs Xbox 360
Filed under: Game Video & Trailers, Gaming

The Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii are very different games consoles, and while Microsoft’s games system excels in graphics, the Nintendo Wii wins over most casual gamers.
So having the same game compared on both these systems may seem pointless, but this has been done. Below this post you can see a video comparing Dead Rising on the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360 was first to get the game and now you can see how the Wii compares, even if it’s for just the gameplay side of things.
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop has received negative opinion from most gamers so far; this is due to the lack of zombies on-screen. We have heard that the developers are working to fix this issue.
Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think of the new Dead Rising game, and the comparison.

That is not true. Most gamers hope that the Wii Version will to straighten out the flaws of the xbox version (old fashioned and fiddly controls, horrible save system)
The Wii version looks really good. I was never impressed by the 360 version but if the reviews are good I’d certainly consider the Wii iteration.
Graphics look much better on the 360, this video doesn’t do it justice. The Wii version looks surprising good. However I noticed a few big differences. The health system looks different. It looks more like a classic arcade health meter. I hope this doesn’t mean the RPG elements from the 360 version have been removed. Remember in the 360 version players had to first rank up their player to have any hope of beating the game, resulting in multiple play throughs and a lot of frustration for some. Also, the controls look a lot slower than the 360 version, especially when it comes to turning horizontally. It looks like the way the combated the wonky Wii controls is by having the zombies dumbed down. In much of the video above the zombies are simply just standing next to you and not doing a thing. It would make sense to have an easier, more arcade-like, faster to beat, and probably save any time you like game for the mostly younger Wii gamers. That being said, I like the new enemies in the Wii version and will probably pick it up anyway.
There probably won’t be, but if the Wii version had some sort of deathmatch multiplayer throughout different areas of the mall online that would rock!
Wii looks better then I expected, I noticed that they went to an over the shoulder view when firing the gun that was reminiscent of RE4. That would be a good thing. Most likely it will be a hit on the wii since its hurting for decent adult games.
I think the wii of dead rising is way better. The aiming will be the same as re4 and that’s a big upgrade pluz there’s gonna be other new stuff and more interaction with the wiis unique controll system. Personally I don’t mind about the graphics I think that the wiis deadrising graphics are almost as good as the xbox one. That just proofs the wiis true power.
hey guys
i have a nintendo wii and i was wanderingshall i get dead rising.im disapointed that wont see as much zombies on the screen as in the 360 version but is this worth getting through all the trouble to get a 360 console just to get this ausome game.please reply and
i actually might get a 360 and get it on 360 and wii to compare it
Here is another thing to consider when looking at the screen shots and in game videos. The amount of zombies even in the game depend on what part of the game you are even in. In the very beginning the majority of the mall is very empty. As you complete more tasks and get deeper into the game, more and more zombies appear and show up until the mall is literally filled to the brim.
These early screen shots and video clips do not say at what part in the game the Wii version is even at. Also, keep in mind that, this game is in development yet and nothing is set in stone, there can be a lot of changes even in a few months.
Finally, since the title’s name is “Dead Rising: Chop Till’ You Drop” and not “Dead Rising” I would expect changes, if not dramatic changes to the game, with the name change, there is already the suggestion it isn’t the same game. People should just be happy to know that Dead Rising isn’t dead.
A lot of people have noticed that the over-the-shoulder aiming and quick time event cues in Dead Rising: Chop ‘Til You Drop are quite reminiscent of that of Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. This is because Dead Rising: Chop ‘Til You Drop uses the same engine that RE4 was built on, which makes perfect sense since both games were developed by Capcom.
I also like how the developers at Capcom cocked an ear and took the time to fix several of the major problems from the previous release (a rare event in the video game industry), like the near-microscopic text on SDTVs, but then again, they’ve also encountered several major problems in the new release.
Since the graphics of the XBox 360 by far surpass the Wii, it was necessary, although unpleasant, to reduce the maximum number of zombies on screen to keep the Wii from choking and lagging on the sheer number of character models to render at once. In the XBox 360 release, I could easily count no less than fifty zombies at almost any time, but in the Wii version’s official site, I could see no more than fifteen zombies on any of their screenshots.
This sort of thing really validates the complaints made by gamers on this issue. This drop in numbers could really kill the challenge, but it was unavoidable. When it came to this problem, Capcom had to sacrifice one of three things to try to emulate their 360 release. They had to drop either maximum zombie capacity, visual quality, or system speed, but we all know which one Capcom threw out.
It is true that the higher the player levels up, the more zombies appear at a time, but the Wii’s graphical shortcomings won’t do much to keep players from noticing that they’re part of a minor zombie nuisance rather than a full-on zombie apocalypse.
All in all, I think this game might be worth something, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high. It’d have to at least be worth a rental.
The wii version will still have a lot of zombies at later parts in the game. Capcom has fixed it so that zombies pop in as you get closer to them. This makes the game able to put in more zombies. This will not be seen in the screenshots, but, you can see this in the gameplay videos.
