Samsung’s new E200 Eco cellphone
By: Daniel Chubb | August 15, 2008 | Leave a CommentSamsung is really showing the world how much it cares about the environment by launching its third phone in 2008 that’s has parts made from bioplastics.
This is the new Samsung E200 Eco cellphone and the bioplastic (materials extracted from corn) parts in this phone have stepped up a gear. This is the first Samsung phone to have an entire case made of bioplastic.
Within the Samsung Group is a company called Cheil Industries, they have been developing these environmentally friendly materials.
The Samsung E200 Eco features an MP3 player, has video messaging capabilities and a 1.3-megapixel camera. There is no U.S. release date yet, although Europe is getting the E200 Eco in September.
As expected, its not just the phone that’s good to the environment, the packaging is made from recycled materials as well.
How much do you think bioplastics will help the environment?
