My husband and I are IT, Web Development people…. so this is to say we know a bit about computers… This is by FAR the absolute worst piece of hardware I have ever used…. EVER!!! My husband and I both agree this is the most worthless product we have ever purchased! I can’t even believe they can sell this to people!! We took it back once and got a new one, thinking it was just a product defect. But, no. This thing just simply sucks! Please, please don’t waste your time with this product!!!! I want the 7 hours of my life back that I spent reading FAQ’s on this thing and talking to Dazzle tech support… which also sucks. And they have no manual for this product. What? This product is anything but simple. We both have nearly brand new computers, one w/ XP and one w/ Vista… one a notebook and one a desktop… neither of which we could get to work w/ the Dazzle! We ended up buying a dual VHS/DVD player and now THAT is simple! We ended up using the desktop itself and just plugging it in and using particular software that comes with Vista to record cassette tapes. So, Dazzle did absolutely nothing… and now we have a VHS/DVD recorder that we can record TV with!! :) I hope this helps somebody out there… then my agony won’t be in vain.

i bought this product (DVC-101) yesterday and i have to say that it is amazing and 200% cost-effective.i installed the software from the included cd, i rebooted my laptop (vista SP132-bit) and i plugged in my dazzle which was installed immediately.
after 5 minutes i was ready to record from my Hi8 camcorder either to hard-drive or DVD.
The only cons is that you cant select the format that you want to save your captures.
The Instant DVD Recorder software creates only VOB files ready to be burnt.

I bought the Dazzle DVD recorder and it works great! In a matter of time I had my videos burnt to my disc and ready to be played onto a DVD player! I recommend this software if you want to instantly record your videos and watch them in HD. It saves time and space!

I have to say the Dazzle I bought I never could get it to work right. I have a camcorder with Hi 8 tapes. When it did record for me the people went real fast threw it. I need normal speed and could never get it. The program almost fried both my computers. I was not very happy with this product. I hope the upgraded version is better.

I don’t know why so many people are having problems with this device. After months of trying to do video capture with a few pieces of crap that I bought, I got this dazzle and had my first VHS tape copied that day. I love this thing. The only glitches I came across were that it won’t capture audio with windows media player, you have to use the software that came with the capture device, but once you have saved it to avi you can do what you want with it. I didn’t care for the software and instead used a corel product, but the most important thing for me was getting the video off the VHS tape, which this does perfectly and inexpensively. I love it.

I have problem with this product. I installed the latest driver and DVD recorder software, and I try to capture video under Windows 7 and Vista. The problem was the same: sometimes the video and audio syncron losted. So the video start to be slow, and after it start to be fast.
(I turned off all running program, and my laptop is: DELL INSPIRON 6400, intel core duo 2GHz, with 2 GB RAM)

Like everyone else, i too bought this thing and sure enough it sucks!!! I tried everything and i finally got it to work after an hour or so, theres no manual or anything else to guide you, useless because my burnt DVD’s now run slow and then speed up and i get this jittering all through the DVD. I used a Sony handycam with 8mm, the camera works perfect until i burned a tape to a DVD using this Dazzle junk!! Lucky for me that i only did two tapes and wasn’t much of a loss. Having to analyze this thing to make it work properly is not worth the money i paid for it.

I have read countless tips from all over the internet to do this or that, bull i say, for what i paid for it you shouldn’t have to be turning off this or that or be messing around with your computer to make this thing work properly, i am taking it back tomorrow and get my money back, i heard some bad things about this and it is true, don’t bother with this cheap contraption, not worth the price or the headache to make it work.
