iPhone 3G Problems: Solution in firmware update

Buzz This

It was obvious that the Apple iPhone 3G would have problems in one-way or another, but nobody ever thought that we would see this amount of complaints on blogs and even the Apple forums.

While many iPhone 3G users have had different problems, it seems that the root of most complaints from around the world is in an Infineon chip.

We have heard many iPhone users complain of lag and everything going really slow, in fact this happens to us on a daily basis even after the latest firmware update. But calls dropping are not something we have experienced ourselves.

According to a research report from Nomura and also reports on Business Week, it looks like an Infineon chip on the iPhone 3G has some faulty software on it. Reportedly, all users need is a new firmware update to fix this issue when it’s available.

As of writing this post, Infineon and Apple representatives have not officially commented on this matter.

Has your iPhone 3G suffered from lag, calls dropping often or Edge data speeds in 3G areas?
