Apple lets Best Buy sell the new iPhone 3G

This move will see the Apple iPhone 3G in Best Buy Mobile outlets early in September and just in time for the holiday season. This will give the iPhone 3G a massive reach of 16 stand-alone Best Buy Mobile shops and 970 full-size stores.
Its being reported that some Best Buy stores will not carry the iPhone 3G, and this is because those stores are in areas that AT&T does not have good cell phone coverage.
This deal will help Apple in many ways. Best Buy is known to be one of world’s savviest retailers and having Apple’s hottest product means massive sales. Best Buy has a 3.6% share of the cell phone market and a 21% share of the U.S. electronics market.
Its not all about Apple – Best Buy want the iPhone 3G to direct people to their new Best Buy Mobile departments within its stores. It’s a win for both companies.
