Install games on the Xbox 360 hard drive

When many gamers heard at E3 2008 that Xbox 360 owners could install video games to the 360 built-in hard drive, some were thinking this would be cool with friend’s games. They were very wrong.

You are not able to install Xbox 360 games from a friends disc and then play whenever you want because you will need the disc still.

Once you install the game and then try and play it again from the hard drive it will still ask for the original game disc.

Below this post is a video that shows someone installing Grand Theft Auto IV to the console’s hard drive. You will see in the video that it still asks you to insert the game disc.

There may be a hack that already combats this. It wouldn’t surprise us. Let us know what you think of the new 360 dashboard in the comments.

That kinda sucks. They could put on some sort of software into the disk and make it so you can only have one download per disc. Like Halo CE for the PC, where you enter a key code. But then they would have to come up with a new program to do that.

    This is cool

They are not going to let you keep your DVD Rom that has been hacked in perfect condition. They would rather you burn it the FU*# out!
