Blizzcon 2008 Tickets: Online Store Error

Today is the first day that you are able to purchase your tickets for Blizzcon 2008; this is the World of Warcraft makers’ yearly celebration of everything that they do for the fans. However if the amount of errors that the online store is having has anything to go by, they are not doing much for the fans.

Many fans have been trying for hours to purchase a ticket; they get to various stages of the ticket buying process before that are met with a message saying that an error has occurred.

The error happens when you try to submit character info for the tickets. However some have managed to get as far as entering their credit card details. Seems that many Blizzcon fans will not be making it to the 2008 show.

For those of you who are eager to go to Blizzcon 2008, you should just keep trying. One guy from Kotaku has asked everyone to stop trying to purchase a ticket for at least 15 minutes, just so he can get hold of one himself.

Has everyone else had any problems with trying to purchase a ticket for Blizzcon 2008?

I have been trying since 9:48 am and the system is a tease….you get close but no ticket confirmation.

I am going to be very disappointed if we are not able to attend because of ticket problems.

Please send me a email if you get thru and how?

The problem is not with the people trying to purchase the tickets. The problem is with the incompetent people who are running the blizzard web site. When only 20 tickets are sold in 12+ hours, you have an incompetent tech support agency. Maybe someone in charge will realize this in the next couple of days and then change the ticket sales to a company who should be doing it, like ticketmaster………….

I started trying to buy tickets at 10 a.m. CST and continued trying to buy them until Midnight CST. Twice I got lucky and got to the credit card screen, only to get the error message after entering all the information. I finally sent an email to Blizz only to get a reply that the store had only been down in the morning.

Talked to several RL friends who are going as well, and they have been having the same problems.

Further I got up an hour early to go to work in order to try to purchase the tickets, only to find the site down for maintenance again.

I can see it is not the true loyal players of WoW who will be going to Blizz Con, but rather the people who like to sell the goodies on Ebay for a buck. Blizz needs to get in gear and figure out the problem instead of taking the realms down for maintence.

I tried off and on for about 12 hours before I gave up after never having made it to the final receipt screen. Many times I made it to the “confirm purchase”, but then just that Murloc with the OOPS flag showed up. I checked my credit card statement and I have two entries from BLIZENT-ONLN*STORE, so I’m guessing I got it. If blizzard won’t cancel one of them, Visa will.

I can’t verify my order status from the blizzard store because the site is down still as of 9:15a cst.

    Hey Runnynose…

Please don’t cancel any extra tickets that Blizz sold you … I will gladly buy them from you and meet you at the event to pick them up for $ (extra if you need it).
No one in my guild had any luck getting a single ticket and we have 20 people with prepaid airline tickets and hotel rooms already booked. Very sad that Blizzard cares so little about the people who keep them in Business to the tune of over $100Million a month

JohnJT415@aol.com ( or anyone else has spare tickets. thanks)
