Sunnto launches wrist-mounted GPS

Suunto has recently introduced the Suunto X10, a step up and an improved version of its flagship outdoor instrument, the Suunto X9i.

While the new model is an enhanced version of the previous, Suunto says the X10 has all of the features of the X9i. On talking about their new product, Suunto claimed that it is “one of the smallest and lightest wrist-mounted GPS devices, but with performance upgrades to make it faster, more powerful and more dependable than ever before.”

The new Suunto X10 will be available in September with a choice of two colours, pricing information has not been released yet, so stay tuned to hear more news of this.

Here is a summary of features in the Suunto X10:

- Upgraded handsfree GPS performance, resulting in improved tracking in difficult conditions

- Includes an altimeter, barometer, digital compass, thermometer

- Time / Stopwatch functions

- Compatible with several digital mapping services across the world, including Google Earth, Fugawi and National Geographic TOPO!

- Suunto Track Exporter PC software included, provides waypoint programming and route planning information that can be downloaded directly to the watch

- Improved USB charged battery, lasts 33% longer than the X9i

- Available in two colours.
