Left for Dead coming to the Playstation 3 after all

Following confirmation from the Official Playstation Magazine, it appears after some initial confusion we will see Left for Dead on the Playstation 3 after all.

It was originally thought that the title would be appearing only on the PC and 360 after no details on a PS3 release showing up. But the latest issue of OPM gave away hints that the title is currently in development on Sony’s console. But as no further details were announced, it’s unclear who will take over publishing duties.

As for the game itself, the visuals and gameplay are looking great as the industry prepares itself for another zombie shooter. It received a lot of positive feedback from its showing at E3 so it looks like a game that a lot of people are looking forward to, hopefully the statement from OPM is true, and PS3 gamers will be able to join in on the fun soon.

    Actually IGN confirmed otherwise today;

    August 4, 2008 - While there have been rumors circulating the Internet that claim that Left 4 Dead, Valve’s upcoming zombie-filled shooter for the PC and 360, would be coming to the PS3, it looks like there’s no truth behind them. We contacted Doug Lombardi from Valve to comment on the rumor and his response was clear: “there is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production.”

    It appears that PS3 owners are out of luck — at least for now.
