BlackBerry Bold goes to Movistar Chile first

Many would have thought that one of the big North American carriers would have been first to get the BlackBerry Bold, but it seems that the new Research In Motion handset is heading to Chile first on the Moviestar network.

It seems that Moviestar feel that they have pulled something truly amazing, which is why they are shouting from the rooftops that they are the first carrier to launch the new RIM Blackberry Bold.

I still have a hard time wondering how Moviestar managed to pull off such a coup; Chile is not exactly the greatest market in the world to launch a new phone.

The Blackberry Bold is not a cheap handset; in Chile the new RIM cell will cost 299,990 Chilean pesos about $588. It seems that being one of the first to own a Blackberry Bold comes at a high price.
