Just got one of these and i’m quite impressed, ok its not the best built radio in the word but what do you expect! the DAB picked up stations quickly and easily, the solid metal aerial givinf more confidance than the cable type. The wireless picked up my network straight away, it was easy to put in my WLA password, in it connected bringing up a large list of internet stations, i search fuction for that would be helpful, instead ittried to sort them by music genre.

The alarm clock was easy the set and gave youe the option of DAB, buzzer, internet or music stream to wake up to, it woke me up on time. the snooze button courses an inital 5 minute snooze which counts down in the display.

The display inself is bright, it dulls down when on standby so is doesn’t light up my bedroom too much.

Only small downside I have noticed is the small hum that gets amitted from the speaker, which is audable at low volume.

Overall i’m impressed with this little radio, and would recommend it.

This was our second internet radio (the first barely worked) and I am very impressed. The price was reasonable (much cheaper than most WIFI alternatives) and it has DAB too. Basically it works very well. Occasionally the power must be removed to get it to connect, but very seldom.
My only downside is the interface which is a bit clunky. However I would highly recommend it.

Very pleased with this radio, looks quite nice, tone and volume good, the earphone socket can be connected to your PC sound card or active speakers, Mp3 player or other source can be plugged into input socket, Dab excellent, Wifi excellent, FM little weak in my location, easy setup works with Wi-Firadio-frontier.com for favorites and adding stations. enabled Wifi with WPA2 security, able to share music from your PC. Handbook ok.

well i just purchased one of these and i have to say i’m very impressed with it simple to set up to your wireless. now there is no internet connection on this radio internet radio only works with wireless router just so you know. it has a great sound for the size of it. looks very nice as well ergonomic shape. thousands of radio stations from all over the world i like HOTT RADIO in bermuda. well this radio i think is well worth the 89.99 you will be impressed.

one more thing i left out on this radio you can receive on internet radio the police scanners from california berkly police department and air traffic control plus lots more.

Pretty cool piece of kit, Easy to use, Internet radio & music via PC work as stated, DAB works great & FM work & sound great.
My only gripe is that the speaker emits a very faint “Ticking sound”, With the speaker this isn’t a problem at all, as you would never hear it, however when using headphones, the ticking is audible enough on a lowish volume setting, and would probably annoy a lot of people.
The ticking appears to be interference from the WiFi signal, not sure if there is a fix for this!

All being said, this is a pretty cool piece of kit, I just wish the headphone produced a clear sound

  • mick

michael i wonder if a pair of wireless headphones would work. connected to the earphone socket would cancel out that ticking noise. just a tought

  • michael

Mick! You genius, I do in fact have a pair of wireless headphones, and i tried them, and yes they have in fact cancelled out the interference! Brilliant! and thanks…

By the way, do you think the same effect can be had with standard earplug headphones with separate volume control?

    thanks again for the advice

Can you tell me why you are telling people to go to Argos to purchase the above radio at £59.00, when you go to Argos website the price is £87.99, I might add you are not the only site to quote this lower price, I think you should all get together and update the price for this radio. It is most dissapointing to go to purchase it and find out you have to pay so much more.

    Thank you for your time.

  • michael

I have just checked the Argos Price and strangely enough it is priced at £89.00, now i got mine 3 weeks ago, and the price was definately £59.00 (in store, catalogue & website) i should note that it wasnt on sale/reduced either, so its weird the price going up!

  • mick

QUOTE:By the way, do you think the same effect can be had with standard earplug headphones with separate volume control?

umm i have no idea. i suppose you might be able to get standard earphones with built in noise cancelation but i’m not positive on that one.

What brand and model and price of wifi router do you use

  • Sam

Just a quick update – this product is not in the new Argos catalogue and is being discontinued…. I bought mine today and had a nice surprise – website states sale price of £69.99, I made a reservation, and when I went to pay in-store it was £49.99!!! Its out of stock nearly everywhere. If you do buy this make sure you do not make payment online for delivery as you will probably be charged full £69.99 – pay at your local store (if they have any left!) – Great product – listening to Las Vegas FM lol – reminds me of being on holiday!
