Rumor: iPhone 3G coming to Orange UK in October

iPhone 3G Orange UK
We all know O2 have the exclusive rights to the iPhone 3G in the UK, although it looks like that will be short lived. We are hearing a rumor that Orange UK is to get the iPhone and it could be as soon as October.

The latest news on iPhone colors was Red. This was a new color coming to the design of the iPhone 3G. Things now look to be kind of Orange and this is said to be from a very credible source on the inside.

The blog on Omio claims that O2 will keep selling the iPhone and Orange will become the UK’s second carrier.

We know how experienced Orange is already with the iPhone. They are selling the Apple phone in France and a few other countries.

How can Apple let Orange sell the iPhone 3G when it’s meant to be exclusive with O2? It’s been rumored for some time that the exclusivity deal with O2 was a three-year agreement.

Do you think more networks for the iPhone is better for the user?

    Errr…. yes!

  2. Raj says:

My friend received a text from orange the other day giving him options to upgrade to an iPhone. His contract runs out by Novemeber I believe. So indeed iPhone would be available on Orange in the UK.

I have to support this rumour here
given the fact that i’ll be due a contract renewal i decided to pursue these rumours and enquire about. when going into an orange shop and asking if they’d be putting the iphone in any future contracts, i was told straightway that that was not going to happen. not happy with the response, decided to call orange, and got passed around until i got through one of their managers that actually confirmed that orange is due to have the iphone on their contracts pretty soon! no datas were discussed, but one thing is for sure: the iphone is no longer o2’s own property and soon we’ll be seeing a price war, which is only good

    M3th0s out

iphone is currently in testing with orange I have a few mobile retail outlets. likelyhood is it will be launched in time for christmas. also together with the merger of T-mobile and orange both networks will have access to 37% of the cellular market in the UK. now you know why apple was so keen to offer the handset !! however NO sms’s have gone out yet Raj mate your friends bullshi##ing we constantly attend launch parties for new handsets ie blackberry etc as my outlets pull in more orange conracts than CP warehouse

  9. Richard says:

This is all true. The i phone will be available on the Orange network in the next month or so, and will also be available on other networks in the near future.
