New Final Fantasy XIII Versus trailer: Sony PS3 exclusive

FFXIII Versus is still a PS3 exclusive. Seems you don’t realise that Versus is it’s own game. No show on 360 I’m afraid.

Versus is a worldwide PS3 exclusive.

This is why the 360 getting XIII doesn’t matter. In order for a FF fan to play the entire FFXIII release they will still need to get a PS3.

I’m just so syced that Final Fantasy XIII is coming out on the 3601 I don’t have a PS3 so now I get to save money. I honestly don’t know why people are getting upset and are bashing on each other. I love all the games and am happy that Final Fantasy is getting the expansion it deserves, despite all the stereotypes about multi platform games being bad? That is kind of negative. In any case the I’m saving up immediately! Can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Oh boy….looks like the author is misinformed here. Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still a ps3 exclusive. FFXIII is going multiplatform. Here’s an article on IGN –

- that clearly shows you how Tetsuya Nomura (director of FF Versus XIII) and his whole team (comprised of the Kingdom Hearts team and Advent Children team) want to develop this exclusively on the ps3. You might be saying that that article was from last year, things change. Well….at E3, Square Enix’s reps and president confirmed that FF Versus XIII was still a ps3 exclusive. Notice…in that article, Nomura never states that FFXIII was an exclusive – only that FF Versus XIII was an exclusive. So yes…Final Fantasy Versus XIII is an exclusive and will stay one.

Yep, the article is wrong, FF XIII Versus is only for PS3 (yet). I got an Xbox 360, and of course I’m really happy that FF XIII is coming for us, actually it was one of the reasons (along with Killzone 2) i was getting a PS3, but now I can wait a little bit longer ’til the platform gets the really good games. I don’t have too much spare time, I can’t play all day long, so I’m a bit delayed with some games. And there are tons that I’m planning to get !! I already got 20 (in less than a year) and I hope I can get to 40 by the end of this year.

I completely lost interest in FF a few sequels ago so i’m unlikely to buy this one unless it does something revolutionary, then i’ll probably pick up a used copy at a later date and give it a go.
The FF franchise has grown stagnant for some time now as far as i’m concerned, i’m sure saying this will annoy some die hard fans but it is my honest opinion.
I’m much more interested in Fallout 3, Fable 2 and the Mass Effect series right now, i think Square Enix has gone off the boil, maybe even Japanese RPG’s in general.
Could be just my taste has changed but i was a really big fan of FF and many other Japanese RPG’s but they just don’t hold my attention anymore.

About what John said……. I’ve been getting that vibe lately too. The one final fantasy I still play is VII. VI V IV were all great but XII X-2 and 8 9 weren’t. I’m just really looking forward to this next generation FF. XIII really sounds as if it’s going to pick up the pace. I hope it will.

I will buy Final Fantasy XIII as well as FFXIII Versus. I don’t care what system it’s on. As long as the games continue to be…accurate…I will buy both systems if need be.

I am upset about FF becoming multi platform. Now it is not because of stupid fan boy reasons. It is because of the love for games. By making the game multiplatform you have to dumb down the game. The game can’t be as long or some of the cut scenes have to be made shorter just to fit the game on to a DVD. The problem with multiplatform games is that the limitation of other systems affect all systems. Metal gear solid is a great example. Metal gear the developers stated that in order to get the game to run on the XBOX they would have to remove things out of the game. I am not sure if Gears of War would have been as good if it was designed for both systems. i just wish developers were able to design multiplatform games to take advantage of all the strengths of each system while not worrying about the weaknesses of the other systems.

What do you mean the article is wrong? Are you saying the authors of this article simply made up speech for Tetsuya Nomura. Well that’s fucking wrong. And the article says that Tetsuya Nomura said “Of course, FF Versus is a PS3 exclusive.” And then right after E3 08 his words still held fucking true with a new trailer coming out stating in bold words at the end of it “ONLY FOR PS3 WORLDWIDE.”

This was to reassure all the people that although FFXIII was said numerous times to be exclusive…it was only a Japan exclusive. But so they had to let them know that it was exclusive worldwide for the PS3.

I am sick and tired of these Nomura games the characters all look thesame to me since FF10.
This cringy game will not touch my 360, no sir. or my marines will beat the crap out of these femboy characters. Awful.
