White iPhone 3G in the UK

While the white Apple iPhone 3G was not available on the launch day in the UK and we have no idea if and when it will be coming, one user is getting upset.

On the Apple Discussions section of their site, one use claims that MOD’s keep removing posts about unhappy customers who can’t upgrade to the White iPhone 3G within the UK.

Why do the mod’s keep removing posts about unhappy customers within the UK who can’t upgrade to the White iPhone 3G?

This is a user forum Correct?

So why are we not being aloud to talk openly about our experiences with Apple and o2 over obtaining (or not obtaining, as the case maybe) this phone?

Until Apple releases something official to us existing o2 iPhone customers to confirm why we cannot get the white model, can you please stop removing these posts.

This is our only means of communicating the difficulties we are having.

No one here is saying anything detrimental towards Apple or o2; we are simply passing on information we are being told by both these parties. Information that other users should be aware of.

What has your experiences been with Apple and O2, when you try and find out about obtaining the white iPhone 3G in the UK?

Do you think they are trying to keep a lid on things or is this user just extra paranoid? Read other iPhone 3G news.

    I think it is ridiculous how existing apple iphone 02 customers are being treated by apple and apple iphone with regards to an upgrade to a white 16 gig iphone. The white white iphone appears to be readily available form apple stores around the country if you are prepared to take out a new contract. However they are not available for upgrade, this can only be achieved through 02 stores who have no white iphones. This is unfair to loyal customers of the iphone. I also feel very aggrieved that I paid £369 for my iphone in February 08 to be told there were no new iphones being released. Then to find 6 months later the new iphone is available free on certain contracts and available for £59 on the contract I am currently on. I have contacted both 02 and Apple regarding this matter and no one gives a damn.

    I can’t find a white iPhone for upgrade anywhere, and many O2 stores don’t even pick up the phone.

    Annoyed!! Doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel. I was one of the first to get an iPhone on contract in the UK and have been treated very poorly with regard to ordering the 3G. I tried to preorder the first day the section went live on the website by calling, staff didn’t know anything, I then registered my interest and called to ask how they would know I want a white 16GB – No information was available. Them there was the sham of sending a text first thing in the am when I had a morning of meetings (Do they know people have to work for a living, especially those who can afford £369 for a handset) and of course the system crashing. I rang to complain and was told ” there would be one available for me when they restock and I “should be happy that they are letting me upgrade for free” . How to value a customer that is so enthusiastic about a product that they will sell it for you every time they talk to somebody about it. Apple have the hardware 100% perfect. O2 I would be happy to talk to somebody from O2 about how they could have improved my experience.
