2010 Lotus Evora: information and photos

Lotus has finally released the full information and a gallery of pictures for their latest sports car. The 2010 Lotus Evora was given the codename of Eagle, but the car has now been revealed at the British auto show.

The new Evora will take its place above the Elise and Exige S, Lotus hope that the new sports car will provide increased day-to-day usability. The new Evora will be larger than the Elise and Exige and will come with more creature comforts, Lotus hope that this will attract new buyers.

The Evora will have the same basic structure as other Lotus models; this means the car will have a mid-engine and will have a lightweight design. The rear window will stick with a sloped design and will come with a fixed roof, although a convertible is likely to come a little later.

The Evora will come in either a true two-seater or a 2+2 seating arrangement, Lotus warn that the rear seats will only be big enough for children to sit in.

The engine used in the Lotus Evora will be the Toyota 3.5-liter V-6; this comes with variable valve timing. The engine will produce 276 horsepower and will do 0-60 in less than five seconds; top speed is around 160mph.
