Danger over Nintendo DS replacement chargers

The fact is we all need to save money in this current economy and one way to do that is by getting a cheaper made replacement charger.
Today The Register is reporting that cheap replacement chargers are flooding into UK shops and Trading Standards are worried about the quality of these products.
The Nintendo DS has had a specific warning from Trading Standards; they said there could be dodgy discount chargers for the gaming handheld in the UK market and also chargers with the item number of “DE62347066″.
The problem is much bigger than just the Nintendo DS; a senior trading standards officer has claimed that there could be millions of dodgy chargers in the UK.
These chargers have badly-made connections and they can overheat or wires can come loose, so when you got to replace your next charger, think about the few pound more for a legitimate version.
Do you prefer branded chargers or do you always try and save money with a cheaper product?
