Rock Band for UK Sony PS3: Are you frustrated?

Rock Band for UK Sony PS3
Rock band is not only a game that has been rated very highly by game review sites but it’s also a game that has left Sony PS3 owners in the UK feeling let down.

While Rock Band was released in the US on November 20, 2007, nearly a year on the game has still not hit the Playstation 3 in the UK, although the Nintendo Wii had Rock Band from June 22 and Xbox 360 from May 23 this year.

So how does this make Sony PS3 owners in the UK feel when they want to get playing Rock Band?

Rock band includes some of the biggest names in Rock; these include The Rolling Stones, The Ramones and Metallica. We have heard from many Playstation 3 gamers in the UK that are very frustrated at not being able to buy Rock Band.

While guitar hero is available in different forms, its Rock band that seems to have the edge with a combination of drums, guitars and singing into this awesome package.

What makes the situation worse is the news about Rock Band 2 and everyone’s getting excited about the next version before the UK has seen the first.

Do you live in a country that has not got Rock Band yet and how does it make you feel having to wait so long?

feeling pissed here in Singapore. especially when the xbox 360 version is region locked so we can’t import it at all either.

  3. dave says:

I haven’t met anybody who cares about it..

  4. what the hell is the reason for the delay - licensing? conspiricy? Crikey, there are 1000s of UK ps3 owners ready to poor so much cash into Harmonix’s pockets any reason to stop the distribution into the UK Ps3 market seems fundamentally flawed. Personally I think its a retirement ploy by Billy-boy Gates to prevent the Ps3 driving the stake harder into X-boxes market share after the Hi Def DVD war went to Sony !!

I don’t care - this reaction from Harmonix / MTV just made me stay with the Guitar Hero Franchise for good. I don’t wanna be ridiculed by a developer who chooses and selects countries in PAL based on forecast, hype etc.

And it is a fact that that is what Harmonix did. period. I hoped, and hoped for Rock Band - now I just look forward to all that GH-franchise will serve up in the future.

I really want to punch someone, seeing as there isn’t even a release DATE yet! What the hell? I’m sick of guitar hero, Rock Band has better songs, i find myslef going to a friends but going to there brothers room to play it!!!

This really sucks. With microsoft chucking money around desperately trying to secure exclusives (because that’s the only way they can compete), it’s gamers who suffer. It’s all the people who have relented and bought a 360 in desperation that I feel sorry for. With Rock Band 2 so close, you can’t help but feel that Rock Band 1 may just pass the UK by. It will be interesting to see what microsoft do come this winter with the avalanche off quality PS3 3 exclusives. Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, Killzone 2…… microsoft are going to have to pull something pretty special out of the mystery bag to top them.

This is really, really annoying! I hope we get extra content or something! This just makes ps3 owners hate Microsoft even more…….. bloody x-box……..

  9. Rushie says:

I won’t be getting it, costs too much and the fact that rock band 2 will be out on X-Box just after ps3 get 1 just shows how much Harmonix / MTV care more for bills cash than gamers, assholes!!!!!

Arghhhhhhhhh.. been waiting for this since before it was even released in the states. At that time I was hoping for a January release in the UK but we all know whats happened since then. The biggest part of the frustration is the lack of information at least if there was a solid date we could look forward to it. II have managed to speak to someone at EA and they still say “late summer” - surely you cant get any later than the end of august as september is autumn isnt it?!!

Also, the lady I spoke to said that although the original 29th Aug date posted was done in error it doesnt mean that the game wont be out by then - its just that “nothing has been confirmed” and that it is a 3 way thing between Harmonix, MTV and EA… So there is still some hope, albeit its only very slight….
