Diablo 3 Petition
We all had an idea of what game was being announced in Paris and it turned out to be Diablo 3, now after everyone has had time to look at the game it seems that many gamers are not happy.

With a Diablo 3 Petition started this week and thousands of signatures to back it, what’s your view on Diablo 3 and the Petition?

The reason so many gamers joined the Petition was because of disappointment that the Diablo fans are feeling, they are not happy with the artistic direction of Diablo III.

The Petition wants to show Blizzard how many fans are unhappy with the current art style of the game, they do not like the Cartoonist art direction, obviously influenced by the Warcraft universe, Diablo isn’t Warcraft.

Fans are looking for an independent and renewed artistic direction, not a recycled art direction taken from the Warcraft world, Diablo never was meant to be as cartoon’ish as Warcraft, they shall have independent and distinct styles, this isn’t.

Let us know how you feel about Diablo 3, do you like its artistic style and have you signed the Diablo 3 Petition in protest?

I would have thought they would have gone with porportional sized characters and environments by now, honestly. example: at the character selection of D2.
Imagine Soul Reaver & Defiance engine meets Diablo. Although, the birds eye view has always been the diablo trademark, the art style of Diablo3 made me think of Gauntlet meets Super Mario Bros. I think the first combo would have been far superior =P Anyway, the issue that people are seeing is the amount of saturation of color being used and fake catoonish lighting ex. “blue means dark and scary” =O which takes away from the semi-realistic feel that would have been expected in the 3rd installment of Diablo. BUT HEY! at least gamers will be blessed & cursed with another addicting game in the first place…..
