Diablo 3 Petition: What’s your view?

We all had an idea of what game was being announced in Paris and it turned out to be Diablo 3, now after everyone has had time to look at the game it seems that many gamers are not happy.
With a Diablo 3 Petition started this week and thousands of signatures to back it, what’s your view on Diablo 3 and the Petition?
The reason so many gamers joined the Petition was because of disappointment that the Diablo fans are feeling, they are not happy with the artistic direction of Diablo III.
The Petition wants to show Blizzard how many fans are unhappy with the current art style of the game, they do not like the Cartoonist art direction, obviously influenced by the Warcraft universe, Diablo isn’t Warcraft.
Fans are looking for an independent and renewed artistic direction, not a recycled art direction taken from the Warcraft world, Diablo never was meant to be as cartoon’ish as Warcraft, they shall have independent and distinct styles, this isn’t.

…and don’t regret it despite the many insults and flames it has garnered me. All over the internet, people have overreacted to this, and are flinging fairly severe and offensive insults to those who dared to offer Blizzard some constructive criticism.
As of now, there are about 48 thousands petitioners, including myself!?
Just try to see the comparison that they’ve make. I will be very happy if the look of D3 are the one’s the petitioner’s recommend.

Personally I think the complaints are not entirely justified. Yes, I do think that D-3 borrows from the Warcraft styles, especially in the character department and yes I agree that Warcraft ISN’T Diablo…However…Blizzard should be given the benifit of the doubt when it comes to its own games! These guys know their stuff and have made some damn good games in the past. I think people are crying over nothing and in the end D-3 will turn out just fine. I actually signed the petition, but mostly due to the message it sends Blizzard, that we want a SERIOUS game and not a cartoony one. Im sure they’ve heard it loud and clear…nuff said.

just because they make a lot of money from W.O.W doesn’t mean they have ot make everything a w.o.w clone in order to make a popular game
I dont get this at all, Ya, Diablo was, dark, and gloomy , and all emo for you fanboys, but I personally hated the darkness of the game. You coulden’t see whats going on everywhere, and end up chaseing some devil kin around for half an hour,that part sucked.
Also Ive found you can sign that “petition” multiple times… so I dont belive the number is really that high. Nerds aren’t above spending a few hours a day clicking on website.
Hey guys just so you know, I mean I know Diablo one and two are like two of the best games ever, but that does not mean you HAVE to but the Third! So quite your bitchen, when you know your gonna pony up the dough anyway!
Youd buy Diablo 3, if it was a remake of Diablo !
P.S. To the people who complain about a WoW clone: This is an entertainment industry,… There trying to make money. There not trying to get put into a museum. WoW style looks made alot of money, So naturally its gonna take some overtones from that.
Um… I have checked it out and I am a huge fan of the series and I had to go change my pants after viewing the game play demo. It was total geekgasm time.
I don’t get what people are complaining about. This not the designers of the original game or of Diablo 2. Those guys put out Hellgate London.
yes, and hellgate london sucked. so clearly there is something about blizzard which makes their game fun and addictive.
I like the new look. I played D1 and D2, and frankly the only negative was the “too dark” look to it. I didn’t spend thousands on a high end gaming computer to NOT be able to see a game. Think about it…
