SSL iTunes Problem iPhone Update
We are hearing of massive problems in updating the iPhone firmware to iPhone 2.0, users are getting a message that tells them of an SSL error, no secure connection.

Our readers were reporting of connection errors to iTunes which would obviously be because of the overwhelming demand to get the software update, but following O2’s problems because of 13,000 orders a second, you would expect a computer company like Apple to be able to handle this load today.

Users trying to update to iPhone 2.0 are reporting “has been updating, seems to have gone through all the steps successfully, though in iTunes under devices, a window is displayed Accessing iTunes Store for last 10 minutes” and another user said “the iTunes store is timing out when it’s trying to activate the device”.

This is leaving some users in a position where their iPhone has been left like a brick, half installed. The latest problems many people are reporting is along the lines of a secure connection error.

If you want to know how to get through the error, the best advice is to keep trying as you should eventually you get through.

Well, now it took 10 minutes to sync my contact. And it just started with my calendar. It seems to me that the syncing process just went slower for the new 2.0 version… Or it’s just me?

I’m soo Frustrated.. I stayed up really late last night thinking that Apple was going to release early… I finally fell asleep and woke up this morning to find that the 2.0 update was now available.. I started downloading and installing the update about 9:30 this morning, and that’s the last time my phone was functioning… THIS IS SOME BS… I guess I will keep trying.. If anyone finds anything out to resolve.. Please let us know… Thanks guys and girls!!!!!

I’ve been trying to get my phone working since lunchtime (7 hours ago).
I downloaded the update. It ran through the backup of my phone and then went to install and said iTunes was busy.
I now have a lovely silver and black bright to call the police on but that’s about it. Guess we just keep trying!!! :-(
