lol waiting for them? you’re a bit behind in news, aren’t you… PS3 games are now getting released day and date as 360. maybe someone wants to play solid games now (MGS4, COD4, GTA4, Uncharted, R&C, RB6V2, Battlefield, Burnout, etc) without worrying if they will get the dreaded RRoD.

Get rid of the Xbox 360,even if you have to give it away, and be done with it.
The xbox 360 is now old school and of the ‘aww remember when’ nostalgia trip.
Just look at what’s on the PS3 and what’s coming up (resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII, loads of great downloadable games. Pixel Junk are producing some really fun stuff.

also many, i didnt say all, many 360 games are superior to the PS3. Also most of those games you mentioned are on the 360 too. And according to gamestop and many other game magazine, online, and gurus agree that those same games run smoother, better, and more beautifully on the 360. 360 owners admit that the PS3 is one hot machine featuring the lastest technology. However the 360s innovative built hardware matches up and surpass the PS3 in many ways.

Also 8 out of 10 people who own both consoles say its the ps3, not the xbox 360, that is collecting dust.

yeah forreal…..ps3 has a ton of games to play now not including the new exclusives. after watching the trailer for killzone2 from the psn network, all i can say is WOW that game looks amazing, it looks more fluid that mgs4 and mgs4 simply blew me away, funnest game i have played sincec mario 64 and FFVII, i haven’t been immersed in a game like that for awhile, and the games so diverse and fresh because the metal gear fights and the fighting with liquid, to the motorcylce scene which i thought was a CGI until i got blasted by raging raven, the game is incredible. Definately worth the 10 for reviews in my opinion than GTAIV….i <3 my ps3, oh yeah and ill show some love to my 360 also (when gears of war 2 comes out) but then what after that? ps3 in my eyes already surpassed gears of war in the graphics department.

Thrid … PS3 game library is still a far cry from the 360′s. I love MGS4 and Drakes Fortune but it’s really not close to what 360 has to offer. Gears of War 2 will smash MGS4′s numbers and the new Halo game being announced by Bungie this next Monday ( not Halo Wars ) will blow the massivly overblown Killzone 2 out of the water.

If you are getting this info from a PS3 site then chances are that the person doesn’t even have a 360 and is just taking a dig. Xbox Live blows PSN away no matter how annoying people may be in a game.

When God of War III comes out and the new Final Fantasy then i’m sure my PS3 will finaly overcome my 360 but until then, 360 is top dog as far as PURE gaming goes.

360 exclusives…Gears of War 2, Too Human, Halo Wars, Last Remnant, Infinate Undiscovery, Banjo Kazooie, Ocean Star 4.

These are games that are OFFICIALLY coming out in 2008 so I’m not sure where people are coming up with ” PS3 has a bunch of games out now ” because they don’t. I have MGS4, Resistance, Drakes Fortune and Ratchet and Clank. Those are about the best there is for PS3 and MGS4 is probably the most amazing game out but those are not enough to even come close to out weighing the 360 library.

Booger-Prove it. I love both systems, i’m just being real about it. I research alot of this and read up on it daily, it’s a hobby and i’m only telling it like it is.

There are 3 more PS3 games that were scheduled for 2008 and then pushed back.

P.S. there are more 360 games that won’t make it this year either.

I agree with the author, my XBOX 360 elite is just collecting dust and I came really close in selling it off but there are exclusive games on there that’s making me keep it. But when compare games on the 360 to PS3, the 360 just looks plain weak. 360 has mostly FPS and a couple descent JRPG. At some point those FPS games will come out on the PC therefore leaving the 360 with really no exclusives. The PS3 has a variety of cool games like SingStar, Hot Shots Golf, Time Crisis, Lair plus popular games like MGS 4, Resistance, Drakes Fortune, Ratch & Clank, Warhawk, Gran Turismo… then you got games on PSN that blows away any XBOX live arcade game such as Super Stardust HD, Calling All Cars, Loco Roco, Flow, Blast Factor… then you got many exclusives games coming out this year on the PS3. And if you’re tired of playing games, you can watch Blu-ray movies… There’s NO WAY that my 360 can ever match what my PS3 has to offer.

I do have to say that my 360 is a good heater source for winter.

Got news for all you knuckleheads. I have both and my PS3 has broken and my 360 is just fine. PS3 has similar issues, esp with the new update. Games? If you look closely said knuckleheads, the games i.e. GRAW2 get released with a worse rating than the 360. THE only game worth playing on a PS3 is MGS4… thats it, game over end of story. Not to mention, there are no games coming out that would warrant mentioning. I have a PS3 for the Bluray movies, thats it. I hope they do come out with a few exclusives that will be worth it. But until then, if I have a choice, the 360 is just too much better. Dont even get me started on the Live experience.

I bought the PS3 last month and I have say I’m really unimpressed with it. Aside from blu-ray and MGS4 there isn’t much to the PS3. I don’t understand what is so great with the XMB i find it boring. Maybe when I finally get to download the revision to the firmware it might change. Setting up online play is frustrating for every game. I don’t understand why people are so psyched about it right now, maybe it just makes them feel better about their purchase. Hopefully down the road I’ll change my mind.

Ironicly the PS3′s biggest selling game till MGS4 was a FPS. Even more ironic is that PS3 is counting on more FPS’s to be thier top games, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2. 360 has more variety.

You say you own a PS3 and yet you can’t even spell “Blu-ray” correctly.

PS3 would be dead in the water if it wasn’t for Blu-ray? Wrong, if it wasn’t for Blu-ray, Ps3 would be having a huge library right now. Because it’ll be using DVD disc just like ps2, xbox, and 360. Since it’s using the same old technology, it’ll make things easier for the developers.

It’s Cell processor and Blu-ray that causes developers to slow down on gaming for PS3. Because it’s a new technology for them, thus it require time to tweak things around. But at the same time, it’s also thanks to blu-ray and cell processor that devs can take gaming to a whole new level. Once they get a hold of it.

Think about it? How epic can Halo and Gears be if it’s on a 50GB disc or higher? Imagine what Bungie can do, imagine all the possibilities. They’ll take Gears and halo series to an even higher state then it is.

i have to agree here, i got the 360 when it first came out then got the ps3 when it came out. Since then the 360 just sits on the media center collecting dust (along with the wii I havent played in months), and just to show off to my friends that i got alot of electronics =). Every game i get that’s out on both systems i get for the ps3 now, including battlefield, gta4, COD4, assasin’s creed, need for speed.

Blu-ray is the new technology tgrass, you can’t deny it. Eventually games will require more memory and everyone will want to watch HD movies. The PS3 is the highest rated bluray player to date, check cnet.com.

PS3 graphics are better. Gamersite prejudices have been exposed several times this last year – passing off crap TV display settings as PS3, even passing off crap Xbox 360 graphics as PS3.

We have several Blu Ray movies, Hell Boy, Casino Royale, Kingdom of Heaven. numerous PS3 games on disc and download we play all the time.

Three people I know are dumping their Xbox 360′s and getting PS3′s.
But if you love your Xbox good for you, if not I can’t blame you.

If PS3 didn’t have Blu-ray, it would be ALOT cheaper and everyone would be buying PS3 then 360s. It’s all matter of price and a lot of people are holding back because of that.

There’s nothing unique or innovative about the 360, it was cool at the time it came off because nothing supported HD but it’s not like that anymore.

The Playstation 3 is absolutely the best gaming system with the best games. I dumped my Xbox 360 early last year and could not be happier with the switch.

IF PS3 didn’t have “blu-ray” then you wouldn’t have the MGS4 that we have today, you wouldn’t have the hype. The Cell NEEDS blu-ray format because the Cell is a terrible video game processor. The cell can’t even decode textures or lighting so you have to recreate every build, level , room and so on over and over and over. That 5 minute load time before every game is all the fake textures and lighting that the Cell can’t do in game. The Cell can calculate 1×1 faster then anything known to man but when it comes to 1x3x17x4 it’s a flat out retard compared to 360. The 6 cores in the Cell are meant to help it multitask but it’s flat out slow compared to the 360. This is why 360 doesn’t need a 50G disc, konami even said it would take 2 discs to put MGS4 on the 360, so that means 2 compressed DVD discs ( 9 G a piece compressed ) at a combined 18 G’s is all that was needed with a game machine meant for games. MGS4 took all 50g’s on PS3 because the Cell isn’t meant for gaming.

The proof is out there, both machines running side by side with all the same equipment. 360 process’s games cleaner, 360 games have a higher frame rate, 360 games produce real geometry , texture and lighting whereas PS3′s 50G disc is needed to create artificle lighting and texture that the Cell can’t produce in real time.

The Cell is amazing but it’s not great for gaming. Without blu-ray, PS3 games would be on multiple discs because of all the excess coding that is needed.

Every level you play in a game is designed different but they are all created with a variety of coded textures and lighting from one set of code. It’s like mixing colors to get what you want, like red and yellow give you orange and so on.

The Cell processor can NOT process that way, every single level in a PS3 game needs it’s own code menu. So, although a publisher can use the same code on PS3 as a 360 game, they need to filter down to what is needed for every level and then code strictly for that said level. So, instead of taking up a certin amount of space with one code menu that would take around 1G for the 360, the Cell takes .5 to 1G PER every level in each game. This takes up allot of space, allot of time and allot of money.

So take Devil May Cry 4 for instance. There are around 20 levels or so. 360 can render them from one set of code and pick what is needed for that level. PS3 needs to have 20 different menus of code to load for each level…even the levels that you back track through later in the game need their own coding.

What “every” game are you talking about?

Most PS3 games have a 3 minute pre-install at least. MGS4 has a 6-7 minute pre-install that takes up 5gigs. MGS4 also has 2 – 3 minute load times between chapters. GTA4 has a 7 minute install before you can play it on PS3 as well.

Most games that are out on both 360 and PS3 have similar load times between missions but PS3 has to pre-install every game before you can play it. On my 360 I can put the COD4 disc in and play right off the bat, but on my PS3 It needs a 3 minute install before I can begin playing the first time.

It’s not a huge deal but some poeople find the loads and pre-installs very annoying. It was worth every minute for MGS4.

Oh and the pre-installs are also annoying because they take up your Hard Drive space quickly. 10 games around an average of 3gigs pre-installed is already going to take 30 gig’s of your 60 gig Hard Drive.

PS3 doesn’t have a very good memory management system yet either but i’m sure they will have one out sooner or later in a firmware update.

I know what you mean now, thankfully PS3 hard drive can be upgraded using any regular laptop hard drive. Which is a plus.

Also, I heard in a 360 board that microsoft plans to have pre-install for some of their future titles as well. But since not all xbox 360 comes with a hard drive, wouldn’t this be a problem?

All I know is that my ardent XBox fanboy friends now only use their XBox360 for GH3 and RockBand – stuff that I can play on my PS2, not to mention PS3 or wii.

Times are a’ changing and a console is about more than shooting people (as the Wii, who is kicking everyone’s arse, proves).

So, what to do with that XBox? Ebay. Or as a media center in some other room of the house- if you can get it to work, that is. One of my friends is on his 3rd XBox (not counting the multiple returns to microsoft). No wonder their sales numbers are kinda high.

RROD meh, Id just go spend about 10 bucks on washers and some thermal paste and fix the damn thing, then spend another 20 on a wisper quiet fan, yea the xbox is full of problems but atleast you can play COD without some a-hole using an aim bot. bottom line is that Sony online is full of hackers and modders so its impossible to play on a fair playinground, xbox has a five year warranty to fix the RROD so why not send it in.

Because you’re wrong. I have PS3 games that are 1080p. But, regardless, I’m sure the vast majority of hidef tv owners don’t have a 1080p set anyways. I’ve also been to my friend’s house and seen pretty crappy xbox graphics.

BP- There isn’t one game on PS3 that is 1080p. MGS4 is 720p as well as Uncharted and those are the two prettiest games on PS3. They are upscaled to a TV that produces 1080p.

There aren’t any Xbox Games that are 1080p either and 360 does the same thing, upscales.

GTA IV however is only in 540p on PS3 and 720p on 360. PS3′s version needed tons of artificial lighting and textures added to make it look 720p for some reason.
