how does lg dare compare
Earlier today Peter showed a full breakdown of the LG Dare that goes on sale today, he also wrote about the pricing details on Verizon Wireless. We now look at how the LG Dare compares in features to the Samsung Instinct and the upcoming Apple iPhone 3G.

Here is a quick summery of some main features of each phone, each phone has many other unique features that can be viewed on the brands website, links are provided where possible.

First up is the LG Dare, this phone has 3G, a 3.2-megapixel camera with flash, full HTML browser, 3-inch 262k-color touch-screen at 240-by-400, dimensions are 4.1 by 2.2 by 0.5 inches and it weighs 3.76 ounces. The main selling feature of this phone is the high-quality video recording; this records 640-by-480 video at up to 120 frames per second. This is a first in the cell phone world. The LG Dare will cost $199 with a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract. View more details here.

Next up is the Samsung Instinct, this phone has 3G, a 2-megapixel camera, a full HTML browser, digital music player, integrated GPS with Sprint navigation, support for Sprint Radio and Sprint Live TV, Visual Voicemail with support for POP3 and IMAP email, 2GB Storage space via micro SD slot, Bluetooth, the phone can act as a modem and it measures 4.57×2.17×0.49 inches and weights 4.4 ounces. One of the main selling points is the very low price of $130 with $100 mail-in rebate. View more details on Samsung.

Last we have the iPhone 2.0, this phone features EDGE, 3G, or Wi-Fi, 8GB of storage for the $199 model, a full HTML safari browser, 2-megapixel camera, GPS that is active only when you need it. The real selling point for the iPhone is the third-party applications available through the upcoming App Store. This service will be much better than any other phone can offer. The iPhones specs do not justify the kind of support and other services you get with the iPhone 3G, visit Apple here to really understand the amount of extras you get.

Your choice of phone will really depend on what your looking for, if we are talking phone features for money then the LG Dare would be the best choice thanks to the better 3.2-megapixel camera and amazing 120fps video recording, but for $130 you can still get video recording on the Samsung Instinct, although not as good.

Where the 3G iPhone lacks in video recording and camera pixels, it makes up in third party application support. With that kind of support these features and a lot more can be added.

Still think the Voyager, with the full qwerty keyboard, html broswer and mobile tv, is the best.

    Hi.

Each user will have his/her own specific needs and so either device will suit the user accordingly. My moneys going to iPhone as the current features provide great functionality for my needs, but with the AppStore and 3rd party apps that functionality will be extended 100 fold. Add to that the entire Eco-system inclusive of iTunes Store and Mobile Me, all synced on my computer at home and work and the futures looking very exciting indeed.

The release of Android will take this whole thing to another level as well. Its really great to be witnessing the mobile revolution first hand.

Instinct and Voyager are at the bottom of my list, neither have decent reception or Wi-Fi, the Instinct only has mobile internet browsing apposed to the Iphones full HTML, I’ll more than likely get the new Iphone.

TO JOHN THE INSTINCT DOES HAVE A FULL HTLM BROWSER JUST FALLS SHORT WHEN IT COME TO STREAM VIDEO (YOUTUBE GOOGLE VIDEO). And its also completely open source. Remember there was no third party apps when the iphone first came out, which is the same case for the instinct, sprint and samsung are making a huge push to get people to make their own apps and give you all the software you need to do so free. oh if have an iphone you love the wifi but if you have an instinct the web browser is so fast that theres no need for wifi. To keep it simple the instinct web browser will even put the iphone wifi to shame when it come to speed.

Hey guys…what would you sugest for someone who likes alot of music, pics, video and also likes to use the internet, good camera…which one is better? instinct or apple?

John — the Instinct’s reception is far superior to that of the iPhone. My father has an iPhone and there are some times when I simply can’t hear him because he sounds muffled or far away…and it’s not like he’s in remote areas. I’ve never had that problem with my Instinct.

Emily — The camera on the Instinct is not really a dependable camera. It doesn’t have a flash, which I think is a huge downside, and most of the pix look a little washed out. But for music, video, TV, and other multimedia, I recommend the Instinct.

Lets face it both phones are the sh…….And both have the capability of evolving through third party apps, and updates from providers. Our roles in the battle of these goliaths is to hack, develope and improve both. Lets face it when companys compete the consumer wins. So cheers i love them both.
