When it comes to Blizzard and gaming, they got millions hooked and names like World of Warcraft, StarCraft and more recently the possible Diablo 3 have made Blizzard a legend in the games world. Now this weekend will see Paris host the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational and it sounds like there is a massive new game announcement coming.
What do you think the new game from Blizzard will be? Lets see how close you can get.
Blizzard’s Rob Pardo was caught at the GDC in Paris and its being widely reported that he talked about the game announcement, well not so much giving details about it, saying “So you want me to announce the game before our announcement”.
This weekend in Paris should see around 8000 people there and it looks like they will get a nice treat from Blizzard, they could be some of the first people in the world to hear about a new game.
Blizzard love to tease in the viral marketing way by displaying brand new images on their official site, these include different games in the effort to promote Blizzard’s top game franchises. What do you make of the teasing Blizzard are doing leading up to the event in Paris, also are you getting excited yet?
We have even heard that an artist called Peter Lee who is working for Blizzard has been on a project apparently called “Hydra”, this added to the speculation that the new game will be coming this weekend. With Blizzard fans in their masses, they were all over that site looking for any clues to what the game will be.

I am usually a very optimistic person, but in this case I am not so sure about Blizzards new game. It will probably be some WoW expansion, simply because it is the easiest way to milk the “cash cow”. It has been in the top 10 sellers list since its release, so for business people it would be quite illogical to steer away from that.
It is Diablo III most likely. Definitely NOT a WOW expansion… one (Wrath of the Lich King) has already been announced for an end of 08 release, but nice try Shurik.
