Call of Duty World at War (CoD 5) has got many gamers talking with some saying they cannot wait and some saying why the hell is it based around WWII, well we have some more news about the game for those who want the game and who are a little interested.
Activision Inc and Treyarch has just announced that they will be taking all you Call of Duty players into deep South Pacific and European theaters this fall for Call of Duty: World at War, this new game which may be loved or indeed hated is a game that contains a gritty fight that will put players up against enemies that know no surrender and of course the enemies show no mercy at all. The new game utilizes Call of Duty 4 (CoD 4) Modern Warfare engine and now throws the rulebook right out of the window of war to transform World War 2 (WWII) combat through a new enemy, there will be stunning new tactics and new experiences of the climate battles that gripped a generation. As U.S Marines and Russian soldiers you the player will love new features like cooperative gameplay, cinematically intense experience and brand new weapons like flamethrowers.
“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools - like co-op and the flamethrower - to succeed in the epic fight.”
Call of Duty: World at War features cool co-operative play “No One Fights Alone”, mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles, this game will also be supported on the Nintendo Wii which will also feature co-op mode for two players, what we like is the fact for the first time ever in the Call of Duty gaming players will see new single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution, the co-op campaign will allow you to rank up and like the CoD 4 get many perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, of course this is where the fun factor and addictive gameplay comes from. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively - if players are online with Call of Duty: World at War - they will always gain experience points. Based on a player’s experience rank and rank of the player’s friends, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.
Call of Duty: World at War is still in development for the Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC, the game will be released this fall of 2008, the game has not yet been rated by the ESRB, ok so we will see the game this fall but I was not happy with that so I done some digging. Apparently the game will be release December 31, 2008.For more information and exclusive updates about Call of Duty: World at War, visit www.callofduty.com

i dont mind another WWII game because its stuff that some of our relatives actually did. WWII games bring heart and meaning to the game. and by the way, WWII German infantry weapons are still regarded as very advanced today. they certaintly did not take 2 years to reload
OK EVERYBODY THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE GOOD ON THE STROY LINE. I AGREE WITH PEOPLE THAT SAY WHY ARE THEY GOING TO GO BACK TO WORLD WAR II. THEY SHOULD HAVE THE FUTURE OF WAR OR SOMETHING OR PRESENT DAY. BUT THIS GAME WILL DEFFENTLY BE GOOD ON STORY LINE. BUT IT IS GOING TO SUCK FOR X BOX LIVE. I HAVE 232,000 KILL FOR COD4 WICH THE GAME KICK’S AS* BUT THIS GAME WILL SUCK FOR LIVE
i hope you can machete ppl
Im actually quite pissed off about this,i didn’t mind Cod1 and 2 because they we’re the best at the time..Cod4 sold really well.. got the best rating and made all the consoles..going back to WW2 seems a bit of a downer..i think as some others maybe a vietnam one? Jungle fighting,Helictopers that fire rockets and machine guns, planes that drop Napalm? i think they’re running out of ideas so “hey lets make another ww2 game” i admit that its the first WW2 game i’ve heard about that involves the pacific..i mean yeah battlefield and MOH but not alot of games are the pacific theatre.. maybe this game could be good, maybe bad
this game is gonna rock, i personaly dont like modern war games (they suck torusballs)
i m big fan of this game and i m end all of call of duty versions. i m wait for call of duty 5.
Call Of Duty started as a world war two game and i think they should stick with that genre not that cod4 wasnt good cuz it was amazing. but also they could go in a completely different direction like say…ww1 or vietnam, even korea. besides future warfare would be gay. i agree with the few ppl that said just go play halo bitches haha.
Future warfare???Go play Halo noob. WW2 put man vs man and no weak helis to ruin the gameplay
That comment just made my day.
John is absolutely right… The complete difference between CoD 4 and the others turned me off to even play the game. I’m glad they went back to WW2, that is obviously what they do best… As a PC gamer for years, i have been playing the series since the first week it came out, and am looking forward to this release on the PC
Jesse has a point too– those gay ass new weapons, helicopter attacks, whatever that was in cod4 ruins the game every once in a while.
I would like to see activision do something else next time though where the shooting genre is weak: vietnam, korea, hell i’d settle for even WWI or a fictional cold war vs russia! the ww2 story does get repetitive, but the way the trailer looks they are sticking the the pacific theater, which is rarely ever done in a WWII game.
I played call of duty 2 on the pc and hated it. When cod 4 came out i wasnt going to buy it but a friend convinced me too, and it is the best game i now own. I like everything about the game..Why the hell would any game franchise take a step backwards, it makes no sense
