call of duty world at war release date
Call of Duty World at War (CoD 5) has got many gamers talking with some saying they cannot wait and some saying why the hell is it based around WWII, well we have some more news about the game for those who want the game and who are a little interested.

Activision Inc and Treyarch has just announced that they will be taking all you Call of Duty players into deep South Pacific and European theaters this fall for Call of Duty: World at War, this new game which may be loved or indeed hated is a game that contains a gritty fight that will put players up against enemies that know no surrender and of course the enemies show no mercy at all. The new game utilizes Call of Duty 4 (CoD 4) Modern Warfare engine and now throws the rulebook right out of the window of war to transform World War 2 (WWII) combat through a new enemy, there will be stunning new tactics and new experiences of the climate battles that gripped a generation. As U.S Marines and Russian soldiers you the player will love new features like cooperative gameplay, cinematically intense experience and brand new weapons like flamethrowers.

“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools - like co-op and the flamethrower - to succeed in the epic fight.”

Call of Duty: World at War features cool co-operative play “No One Fights Alone”, mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles, this game will also be supported on the Nintendo Wii which will also feature co-op mode for two players, what we like is the fact for the first time ever in the Call of Duty gaming players will see new single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution, the co-op campaign will allow you to rank up and like the CoD 4 get many perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, of course this is where the fun factor and addictive gameplay comes from. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively - if players are online with Call of Duty: World at War - they will always gain experience points. Based on a player’s experience rank and rank of the player’s friends, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.

Call of Duty: World at War is still in development for the Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC, the game will be released this fall of 2008, the game has not yet been rated by the ESRB, ok so we will see the game this fall but I was not happy with that so I done some digging. Apparently the game will be release December 31, 2008.For more information and exclusive updates about Call of Duty: World at War, visit www.callofduty.com

Are you looking forward to this game, or are you disappointed that it is based around WWII?

  2. jaque noff says:

just shut up, keep an open mind and wait to play

  3. Dan says:

again im in no doubt i will buy it, as it will hopefully have a decent enough story line to make it interesting. And as for futuristic games, having it set in the near future does not mean halo!!!! it just means that we will be able to use more items and sort of stealth tactics. no weopon in ww2 is really stealthily now is it !!!!

  4. TaNk says:

i dont think we have enough information about the game just yet to judge whether to buy or not. its easy to see that this game will be both loved and hated. but if your like me and on the fence we still need more facts about the game. too early to judge

  5. Alex says:

When are they going to do a Vietnam era version? Dying to do some river boat action and maybe some some tunnel fighting. Jungle warfare…. Hoora!

  6. Goose says:

I am so sick and tired of world war 2 games its not even funny. CoD4 was like a breath of fresh air. If they want to go back in time, why don’t they do something like veitnam. Theres not alot of those games out there.

  7. THIS GAME IS GONNA FUXXIN ROCK MAN. SHUT UP EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. G Thang87 says:

I agree with ‘Goose’, If the COD brand was to explore all regions of gameplay, weapons, tactics, stealth, Allies and Foes etc they could do with exploring different wars that have taken place in the modern era. As its been mentioned in a few previous comments everyone is tired of WWII games, now I am new to COD and have always been in to MOH games which are mainly based around WWII history. And Ive had no major problems with that style gameplay or weaponry used, but playing COD4 was a big turnaround for me and I believe the best way for them to go would be staying modern as they have covered WWII in the last 3 games, so Ive heard? And also Infinity Ward are not involved in this game which apparently is not a good thing. After all the pointless rambling ive just wrote as I got nowt to do at work I say to hell with it and ‘Lets do dis!!’

  9. Zach says:

Oh my f**King god another WW2 peace of sh*t you gotta be F**King me! I was hoping it would be modern thats why COD4 sold so well why in the hell are they going back to WW2 nobody cares about WW2 with those crappy bolt-action rifles that took two years to reload. I’m not going to buy this game because I’m so sick and tired of WW2 games.! There is like a million other games set in WW2 why make another one?

  10. Zach says:

I was hoping GOD5 would be set in Iraq or Afghanistan or something. They need to get out of the past and stay in the present day and/or future.
