Call of Duty World at War (CoD 5) has got many gamers talking with some saying they cannot wait and some saying why the hell is it based around WWII, well we have some more news about the game for those who want the game and who are a little interested.
Activision Inc and Treyarch has just announced that they will be taking all you Call of Duty players into deep South Pacific and European theaters this fall for Call of Duty: World at War, this new game which may be loved or indeed hated is a game that contains a gritty fight that will put players up against enemies that know no surrender and of course the enemies show no mercy at all. The new game utilizes Call of Duty 4 (CoD 4) Modern Warfare engine and now throws the rulebook right out of the window of war to transform World War 2 (WWII) combat through a new enemy, there will be stunning new tactics and new experiences of the climate battles that gripped a generation. As U.S Marines and Russian soldiers you the player will love new features like cooperative gameplay, cinematically intense experience and brand new weapons like flamethrowers.
“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools – like co-op and the flamethrower – to succeed in the epic fight.”
Call of Duty: World at War features cool co-operative play “No One Fights Alone”, mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles, this game will also be supported on the Nintendo Wii which will also feature co-op mode for two players, what we like is the fact for the first time ever in the Call of Duty gaming players will see new single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution, the co-op campaign will allow you to rank up and like the CoD 4 get many perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, of course this is where the fun factor and addictive gameplay comes from. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively – if players are online with Call of Duty: World at War – they will always gain experience points. Based on a player’s experience rank and rank of the player’s friends, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.
Call of Duty: World at War is still in development for the Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC, the game will be released this fall of 2008, the game has not yet been rated by the ESRB, ok so we will see the game this fall but I was not happy with that so I done some digging. Apparently the game will be release December 31, 2008.For more information and exclusive updates about Call of Duty: World at War, visit www.callofduty.com

Call of Duty World at War is not Call of Duty 5. If this was the case World at War would be Call of Duty 9. Call of Duty 5 will succeed Modern Warfare. Dumb Fuqz!
Sorry, but I don’t think anyone here is after a lesson in nomenclature. You clearly don’t have a thorough grasp pf the problem at hand, nor do you have a proper grasp of the English language.
that would be winter my friend…
I doubt they will bring in customizeable weapons in this one, with exception of a silencer and maybe rifle mounted grenade? Allthough i am dissapointed its based on a WW again (and was hoping for a made up but completely plausable storyline) i beleive the game play, gfx and multiplayer will far surpass this small flaw. Also, even though it is based on ww2 this could come as a shock and be a fantastic game (like medal of honour:allied assault) and beleive people should make their minds up with the demo and the game itself.
Daz
im going to buy this game today and i want ppl to find me on live ok my screen name is Slopy
After playing it some more – it does not compare to COD4. The online play is crazy. Hitting people at point blank range in the head or chest with 4,5 or 6 shots would kill them and all they get is slightly injured – BS. It’s OK but nowhere near COD4.
