call of duty world at war release date
Call of Duty World at War (CoD 5) has got many gamers talking with some saying they cannot wait and some saying why the hell is it based around WWII, well we have some more news about the game for those who want the game and who are a little interested.

Activision Inc and Treyarch has just announced that they will be taking all you Call of Duty players into deep South Pacific and European theaters this fall for Call of Duty: World at War, this new game which may be loved or indeed hated is a game that contains a gritty fight that will put players up against enemies that know no surrender and of course the enemies show no mercy at all. The new game utilizes Call of Duty 4 (CoD 4) Modern Warfare engine and now throws the rulebook right out of the window of war to transform World War 2 (WWII) combat through a new enemy, there will be stunning new tactics and new experiences of the climate battles that gripped a generation. As U.S Marines and Russian soldiers you the player will love new features like cooperative gameplay, cinematically intense experience and brand new weapons like flamethrowers.

“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools - like co-op and the flamethrower - to succeed in the epic fight.”

Call of Duty: World at War features cool co-operative play “No One Fights Alone”, mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles, this game will also be supported on the Nintendo Wii which will also feature co-op mode for two players, what we like is the fact for the first time ever in the Call of Duty gaming players will see new single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution, the co-op campaign will allow you to rank up and like the CoD 4 get many perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, of course this is where the fun factor and addictive gameplay comes from. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively - if players are online with Call of Duty: World at War - they will always gain experience points. Based on a player’s experience rank and rank of the player’s friends, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.

Call of Duty: World at War is still in development for the Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC, the game will be released this fall of 2008, the game has not yet been rated by the ESRB, ok so we will see the game this fall but I was not happy with that so I done some digging. Apparently the game will be release December 31, 2008.For more information and exclusive updates about Call of Duty: World at War, visit www.callofduty.com

Are you looking forward to this game, or are you disappointed that it is based around WWII?

I think COD4 was very revolutionary for the COD series. It took the COD’s out of WWII mode and gave it a well deserved facelift. I bought WatW bc im a old school COD fan, but i have a feeling that Resistance 2 will find more time in my PS3 than this version of COD.

I put my deposit down before i found out infinity ward was NOT making WatW. However, COD5 (projected release is spring/summer 2009) will be Infinity Ward, so i look forward to that one more so than WatW.

i think cod5 being a ww2 game would be better cuz the game would be more safisticated and more dedicated. ya modern warfare was cool but ur not gonna make another cod with terrorists. cod5:world at war should be about having fun playing the game and customizing weapons and perks while still learning a bit more about the last great war. i think its gonna be an awesome game, i cant wait till it comes out. and the ww2 theme, again, i think it will be a challenge for getting used to new guns and stuff. oh and the last cod that was ww2 related was cod3 which was a pretty good game but i think the makers of cod5 will really make the game more realistic, challengeing, and make u hav a greater adrenaline rush than any other cod

  9. steven.G says:

and the game better come out november 11th, not like december 31st

  10. steven.G says:

about the cod5, i think its an awesome idea to include the japanese in this one not just the germans. this idea might just be a great change in cod history… possibly/ maybe
