Nintendo Wii version of Call of Duty 5

Call of Duty 4 has taken over online gaming on the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360, but with the battle for high quality graphics between them two games systems, some people do not think much about the Nintendo Wii when it comes to COD. The Wii has more people playing it than any other games console and while its graphics are nowhere near as good as the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, its gameplay is second to none.

Today we are hearing that the Nintendo Wii version of Call of Duty 5 will have multiplayer, co-op and zapper action. Any game can get boring quick as soon as you have completed the singer player game, for games to last you got to have multiplayer gaming for endless fun. These new features on the Wii version of COD 5 will create a lot more fun for your money.

Call of Duty: World at War will be brilliant, it could have been a modern combat game but WWII will still be very good and I am sure the graphics and gameplay will also take on a new lease of life. The Nintendo Wii will get a ported version of the Modern Warfare engine and the support for the Wii Zapper will give that arcade feel in your home.

The graphics on most Wii games might be just “OK” but we are hearing that the Wii’s COD5 will “look better than any Wii game”, according to Senior producer Noah Heller. He went on to say that World at War will be the best shooter that the Wii has ever seen and that it will be aiming for the name of “most next-gen Wii game ever”.

This has got to be good news for Wii owners that want that extra touch to graphics, but then if you are a Wii gamer you will know that graphics was never the reason you bought the console, its all about the gameplay and the Zapper, multiplayer and co-op will bring it.

Seems that the publisher are now aware that the Wii is the perfetc fit for shooter games like Cod. Besides Cod there are already other shooters in produktion for the Wii and all want to be the prettiest Wii-Shooter … we could be anxious to this :)

YES possibly one of the first TRUE next gen games for the wii, actualy utilising its graphics and not crappy shovel ware games.

Itotally agree. the Wii may not be the strongest graphics-wise, but CoD will probably be the best Wii shooter yet (with Metroid in second).

have you PLAYED Medal of Honour Heroes 2?

that is amazing online, the graphics may suck but still, the 32 player online is amazing.

    hopefully, CoD:WaW will beat it…
if that doesn’t, there’s always Quantam of Solace and the Conduit :)

yes the game seems like it could be amazing …but im still skeptical about the multiplayer…will it be extremely laggy like some of the other wii games…will we need the frustrating friend codes to have any fun at all? …ill have to wait a while and see some reviews about the multiplayer before even thinking about purchasing this

I’m trying to find a review where a person has played this game with the zapper. I managed to find a few sites where someone just says they didn’t like it, but I would like to hear a little more detail than that. I mean “why did you not like it”?

I ask because I don’t have the zapper, nor do I have COD for Wii. I have COD for my PC, but the thought of actually pointing some kinda Wii gun at the screen and shooting people really interests me. I normally don’t like FPS on consoles, but this sounds like it would be original and fun.

If it’s cool with the zapper, then I’ll buy both COD for the Wii, and a zapper. Maybe even 2 zappers for COOP. The thing is I never tried the zapper so I don’t know how good it is.

So I just got CoD5 for the Wii about a week ago. I’m already getting pissed at it more than ever. But don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game in its entirety.

I’ve played Cod5 on the Wii and PS3. This is basically why it pissed me off:
-No co-op mode on the Wii really. A second player can join, but is limited to the 1st player’s screen with only a cross hair to go by. I was really expected me and my friends to be gunning down zombies side by side, but that didn’t happen.
-Very limited game modes on Wii. CoD5 for the Wii only has Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, and Hardcore Team Deathmatch modes available to play. On the other hand, the PS3 version has all of those plus capture the flag, search and destroy, war, and sabotage. Being limited to shooting, shooting, and shooting gets boring pretty quick.

I just got this game with my bro and we cant seem to do multiplayer mode!!!! do you need the ZAPPER???

  • Greg

I can’t get the multiplayer to work on COD 5 either on the Wii. We’ll set up two remotes, but as soon as we choose multiplayer, one of the remotes goes dead, as if COD is turning it off. We have one zapper, but not two, but I don’t see why you would have to have two zappers, because all they are are a holder for the remote and numb-chuk.

Although there is a different set up for the zappers, so maybe you have a point in that you may either need to have it on NON-Zapper mode, or both on Zapper mode, and it may know when you don’t have the same settings. and thus refuse to allow you to play it that way.

  • chris

the only two player mode (for wii)\

is after you beat the campaign on any difficulty…and when you do unluck it, it isnt great the 2nd player only gets to shoot while the first player does everything else.

Zappers suck! I had one before I bought the game. Now that I have been using it I don’t know that I would switch. I hate it that you can designate certain buttons for the controller. The Wii controllers just aren’t the greatest for COD 5 especially with a zapper. If you use the zapper controller option you have to double tap down on the NC to crouch and double tap up to jump. Also if you want to switch guns you hold the z button down and twist the zapper. I have had it switch guns on me for no reason. Once second I’m shoting a guy with a machine gun then I try to shot again and I have a pistol.

I’m addicted to the multiplayer game, but one second I can be running around and killing everyone. Then the next I’m unloading two clips into them at point blank range and they end up killing me???

cod 5 for wii is very good. The graphics are amazing, and the controls and gameplay are very nicely balanced and intense… but, let’s just hope game producers don’t leave out things like zombie mod and 70 percent of multiplayer :P , only downside to the wii version

  • Mike C

how do you get to or start co-op mode on the Wii?

    Thanks
