News was only recently released, that the next game in the Call of Duty series would be titled ‘World at War’. It has been stated that the game will return to the World War II era, an announcement which left many of you disappointed after the current success of Modern Warfare.

The general feel from the public is that the game will be ruined as a result of returning back to WW2, after getting so heavily into COD4, which is still very popular and currently has one of the best online game experiences. Until we find out more official details on this game, we should not speculate too much as to what the final outcome will be like, as I’m sure the developers have a good idea and reason for choosing to take the game this way.

In the mean time, check out these freshly leaked screenshots that were taken from an Official Xbox magazine and some websites from around Europe. The images were not due to be released until sometime next week, along with a possible announcement of details of the game, stay tuned to find out upcoming news and events on COD5 as it happens.

As a keen COD4 gamer myself, I am very interested to know how developers will try and build on the success of COD4, and still attempt to target and impress its users with its new game. It certainly could be a risky option to take, what are your views on this matter? How many of you are prepared to buy this game knowing that it will be a totally different experience to COD4.

I’m really excited about this one. It’s the second WW2 game that’ll take part in the Pacific Theatre, the first one was Medal of Honour: Pacific Assault which was a total waste of money. I was surprised Treyarch decided to go back to WW2 but i’m sure that this game is going to be just as action packed and intense as Modern Warfare. Treyarch did such an amazing job with the story and multiplayer of CoD 3 that i really don’t think they’ll mess this one up. I haven’t even seen any in-game footage but i know i’m going to buy it.
