Recently there has been a lot of success with video games hitting the big screen, with film companies always looking for the next potential success. With recent games made into movies such as Hitman, Silent Hill and the third Resident Evil, There seems to be rumours surfacing that a Lost Planet movie is on the way.

Lost Planet was a title that was originally released for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, PC and more recently, PS3. It has been reported that David Hayter, the voice behind Metal Gear’s ‘Solid Snake’ is currently in talks with film giants Warner Bros. about a possible role in the movie. This is an interesting prospect as there is also meant to be a Metal Gear Solid movie in the pipeline, with Hayter probably having some sort of input in that movie as well. As well as being the voice behind the famous character, he also had experience in the films industry as he wrote work for X Men 1 and 2.

There seems to be a current trend in the market for films based on video games, I certainly didn’t expect another Street Fighter movie to be made, but that is well in development at the moment, and a Tekken movie has already been confirmed for 2009. It will be interesting to see if the Lost Planet movie does materialise, considering all the games that turned out to be poor movies, stay tuned to find out any more news.
