Sony has announced the launch of a new line of TV’s, the S4000 series will become their flagship model with four sizes in the range. The model sizes are 26-, 32-, 37- and 40-inch screens, the 40 inch model is a 1080p Full HD TV and comes with the Bravia Engine 2 this delivers a 24p True Cinema mode. All of the models from the range feature an LCD panel and support up to 33,000:1 of dynamic contrast, this means that you will be rewarded with cinema-like blacks as well as bright highlights.
When it comes to the design of the new TV Sony are using their new “draw the LINE” design concept. For those who do not know what this design is, Sony has gone for subtle styling so that you are not distracting from watching a program or movie. The Sony S4000 is finished in Piano black and has gentle lines that gently curve around the frame, the base is of a swivel design.
The new Flagship TV from Sony comes with a host of features all designed to improve your viewing enjoyment. The TV comes with three HDMI inputs, great if you have a PS3 as well as a HD Camcorder. As yet there is no pricing, but expect to pay more than normal as you are getting a high-end model.
We are not sure how this TV will perform on the market, but they are facing stiff competition from the likes of LG. The Korean electronics giant are making great strides when it comes to their TV designs, and companies like Sony are trying hard to compete with this competitive market.

The S series is NOT a flagship TV. This is an entry level set - which is why it is only available up to a 40″. Check out the 55″ XBR8 for a flagship.
