30v30 Maps on COD: Would Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers want this?

It’s an interesting point when we talk about the number of players allowed on a map in Call of Duty, when I have been playing COD4 online in a Team Death Match game it can get busy but as soon as you go into an 18 player game with 9v9…it’s madness at times. Now with PC gaming, some games have modes of play with 30v30 and some Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 games want this on a console games system.

Would console gamers want 30v30 online games in Call of Duty and could the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 handle it?

If the maps were made much bigger in Call of Duty 5, then I personally would love to play a 30v30 game, well as long as the host is passed to another player when the host leaves. This would be much more fun for me, but then there are gamers who like things a lot less mad.

The good thing with online FPS is having modes of play, you get to choose the type of online game you want and that’s the very reason we should have the option of massive 30v30 games.

The maps on Battlefield were always big and the Battlefield: Bad Company game shows you again some nice larger maps, if we can get this size map with 30v30 gameplay then we would have a much better game, but that game only supports 24 players online.

Why don’t we have a game on the Xbox 360 or Sony PS3 that supports big 30v30 games? Feel free to leave your opinion in the comments below.

is sad to say this, but with all the almighty power of the 360 the lag could kill the game, maybe a lesser hardware that doesn’t require too much demanding power like the ps3 can handle this type of game due the servers.

    ZOOB

    your a dumb little kid.
more people play resistance than gears of war, online.

is the system hardware, thats why it laggs, not only online but when u play gta4 and there is many thing on the screen like cops,it lags.
ps3 doesnt lagg thats bad,it lags 70% less.

OMEN you sad pathetic troll, can you back up your 70% claim??? NO!

Microsoft’s subscription pays for the users higher bandwidth which is why Frontline handles 50 players all using voice chat without a problem.

With the PSN servers depending on where they are located you’re either going to have a constantly good connection or constantly bad one. PSN will never get the numbers to go peer to peer!!!!! XBL has over 11 million registered users. FACT

Will 11 million people be buying the one game, and playing it at the same time, err probably not, but i wouldn’t put it past them, since they all play first person shooters. Anyway last time i was on resistance which was about 3 days ago, their was about 8 rooms with full forty players in and many many more rooms with less, its more popular than i ever thought it would be. Not my kind of game, it does annoy me sometimes. I think CoD5 should do this, but some destructive element put in place as well, after playing battlefield BF addictivly since the demo came out i hope many more games follow this route.

Thats not THAT much less than XBL. Certainly not enough to claim that PSN will never be able to peer to peer.

60 player online would be really good but only if it was well done like Resistance 2 sounds. 40 player online on Resistance 1 was mental with grenades and rockets flying everywhere. With a big enough map and clever spawn points to keep team mates together would work very well. Would make it so there were a lot more intense battles but without making it totally hectic and elminating skill and strategy.

Resistance only sold 2.5 million by the way. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games#PlayStation_3

Resistance 2 is yet to be released so try not to hype is much as you did with Haze because you’ll only be let down. The xbox currently handles the biggest online game at the minute which is 50 with Frontlines. Where is psn going to get the bandwidth for their bigger games??? I see they are already charging for pay per view demos.

    @OMEN

Stop making up silly claims you’re embarrassing yourself and ps3 users who want to make valid points. I’ve seen you in other forums doing this. YOU ARE A TROLL

    YOU NEED SOME FRIENDS

Go outside for a walk and join a sport, club, or cult. All are more productive that posting fanboyism and will increase your chances of having sex (i.e. high sperm count, more testosterone, etc.). Sitting in front of a computer screen for long periods of time can damage your eyes, which could result you one day making love to a swamp donkey or troll beast; nobody wants that. So quit posting fanboyism, get some fresh air and repopulate the plantet, or take my adive listed below.
