I totally agree with all online comments made in the article. Although I will mention my distaste at the level of swearing and abuse on the PS3 COD4 chat. Coming from a PC gaming environment where chat was typed, and certain etiquette maintained, playing against people calling each others mother’s ‘Who*res’ and wishing people ‘to die’ is not acceptable on a public game.

As for the era of COD5, it was the lack of depth and size of the single player content on COD4 that I am more concerned about. Regardless of era, I just hope COD5 doesn’t take 4 hours to complete.

I don’t think it was the best idea going back to WW2 but hey ho!

I want to see more interaction with the scenery and the online multiplayer upgraded so you can do Co-Op missions.

It should still be game like call of duty 4, dont take the ranks off, change host when original host quits, more multiplayer games, and dont take the good weapons out, or dont take the red dot and extra equipment for the guns out, and ESPECIALLY the PERkS! also make a perkless game for online, that would be aweome. Last, more then one player can play online on the same console, cuz havin friends over and havin to play 1 on 1 on 1 on 1 and on the same screen, IS GAY

Yes they need to allow it so two people can play online at the same time on the same screen cause when my friends are over we have to switch off and is boring when yo are not playin

i personally would like to see call of duty take place in vietnam or korea, either one. i have only heard of two games that focused on vietnam, and none for the korean war. the jungle combat and guerilla warfare would make the campaign so much more intense, and the multiplayer maps could be huge. absolutely must have co-op campaign, and host hopping online. oh and interactive surroundings, destructible cover.

i think there needs to be a split screen feature online and they need to keep the upgrades for the weapons and the perks. I also think they need to keep all the same game types as cod4. And also i’ve been reading and they said there was going to be vehicles and i just think that no vehicles i better in a game.

i dont really care what era, ww2 pacific sounds pretty sweet but vietnam would be awesome too. Id be good with the game as long as they increase game server sizes. 6v6 can get a little boring sometimes. they should make a game mode with huge maps for games like 20v20, 25v25, or 30v30. They do it with computer, why not systems?

I honestly think that a vietnam crisis era should have been in the next franchise. for those of you that remember BFVietnam, im sure youll agree that something like that, if taken to new, bigger levels would totally rock the historical FPS scene.

nah they should definitely do a modern one, a modern setting for a modern console the multiplayer should be more destructive and also have greater depth at customizing your class, also the ability to pick up others explosives when another player is dead, oh and more maps like shipment on CoD 4 that map is awesome

Fuk WWII. COD4 is better than the rest and its stupid that the developers are running back to WWII when they should be continuing with mopdern war fare. There are newer weapons out that i would love to see in COD

I just started playing C.O.D.4,in fact it is the first time I have ever played a first person shooter.Everyone at work was talking about it so I rented it and it took some getting use to but I came to love it.Modern Warfare set a new bar in my book and if there going back to WWII for the next one thats going to suck.How about “Modern Warfare II Mercenaries” with new maps and storyline,still have the Marines,MI6,Russia,and etc.Create your on multi-player character for on-line play.Just some ideas if this gets read by someone important to the game……An if theres a game out like this right know let me please….

Vietnam era would have to be one that I would love to see done. Jungle warfare, riverboats, tunnels, helicopters, etc… that is an era I would love to see in the next release. It’s a must do for Activision.

totally agree, vietnam era.. weapons not too old.. alleast theirs the m16 u can recognised… ww2 weapons how are they going to be upgrade???have they got a sniper riffle back then.. cod4 was awesome because of the online component not the single player mode… imagine playing with ww2 weapons online how boring that will be….

Viet Nam would pose a brilliant theater. Imagine using claymores, or avoiding boobytraps. Now, that would make for a challenge. Imagine having a boobytrap specialist on your squad for online purposes. I would love to see that. As for returning to WW II, I am not very interested in that, after finishing the other COD games.

I think Activision is really missing the mark with COD5, I mean didn’t they do any market research with their target audience? This game better blow me out of the water when I play it, and I will play it, I mean it’s COD for goodness sake. I’m just not happy that it’s one step forward and two steps back. I guees it’s a plus that at least it’s the South Pacific theater instead of Europe but I hope they can get a little more creative with COD6. I sure don’t want future warefare, though I’m sure they’ll hit on that eventually, but something refreshing, something a touch more current. The Vietnam era would give a ton of great gaming options and you really could do more than one game version in that theater. I guess we’ll just wait and see when COD5 comes out. I sure don’t see it being the massive game sensation COD4 was with sales, but who knows.

I think that they shuld put online multiplayer so u culd play wit like 2 people on the same xbox it wuld be alot better….and keep it modern ww2 sux

i feel the ps3 is sh*t and any who owns one is missing out on a great exprience in the xbox 360. to be frank i cant understand why anyone with half a brain cell would of choosen a ps3 over the 360, espilally having to pay £200 extra. the 360 has considrably better offline game play and online game play, better range of games aswell as having a bigger online community.

hey 360 fanboy, stop hating on ps3. jus be happy with what u have. yea maybe xbox360 has got a bigger online community but remember another couple of years they might bring out a new console so then u have to buy new one. unlike my 2 yr old ps3 that will last me another 20 yrs til ps4 comes out. anyway i wil buy cod5 even though im sick of old weapons with no red dots or upgrades. cod4 was a big HIT for me. and cod4 will neva get old. cod5 might be our last good game on cod. cus cod6 is gonna be about ‘future warfare’ which will SUk’ and id rather play ww2 or ww1 than shooting at some aliens which will remind me of star wars and that boring halo series games. and yea i wouldnt mind vietnam as well.

But back on topic, SCREW COD5! Im sick of WW2 games! COD4 was the most succesful COD game ever, it whooped halo 3′s ass. Why couldn’t they do futuristic, or even vietnam, jungles would definitially be awesome, I will NOT be buying this game, but then again my 360 is modded so I wont pay a dime for it, I will probobly play it for a week then go back to ALL the other awesome games on the 360 right now. Gears of war 2, fable 2, fallout 3, Dead space, the list goes on and on.
