I have to wonder what Samsung are thinking, the thing is they have announced that they are to release their new i900 Omnia smartphone, on a day when the rest of the world will be waiting for the new 3G Apple iPhone. This new handset will have to be something very special, but I have to say that the i900 will be in the shadows of Appleās handset. Samsung say that their new smartphone will be ideal for business users and will offer them full touchscreen functionality. The Korean phone maker have been talking for a while now about the launch of the new i900, but come on they could have picked a much better day to launch.
So what has the new i900 Omnia smartphone got to offer then, firstly the handset comes with a 5-megapixel camera, pictures will look great on the 3.2-inch screen. A great added feature which will have many business users interested is HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity. If you thought that the Samsung i900 Omnia smartphone was sounding like the Apple iPhone, then wait to you learn what the memory options are, an 8GB and a 16GB. What the new Samsung has over its rival though is a Haptic touchscreen.
The phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system; this means that it is a phone just for Windows fans. The new phone is nothing like any other Samsung, the touchscreen phone comes with just three normal buttons, so there is no need for a stylus. Pocket Lint say that the rumoured release date will be sometime in August, and it will be available on all networks.
