Call Of Duty 4 more successful on Xbox 360 than Sony PS3

All the players of Call of Duty 4 know how good the game is and some of us don’t understand why we keep trying to move up the prestige ranks, but we keep playing and moving towards prestige rank 10. Today we are hearing that COD4 is one of the most successful games since 2000 and it sold over 10 million units, Cod4 is one of less than ten games that have ever reached that figure in the last eight years.
What did surprise me is to find out that Call Of Duty 4 has been more successful on the Xbox 360 than Sony PS3, although the head of the game’s developer Infinity Ward, Vince Zampella, will not release the exact number of COD4 games sold on each console, he did say “it had been most successful on Xbox 360”.
Call of Duty 4 was also voted as the global top seller of 2007, which is an amazing achievement. So if we had to guess, my opinion is that the Xbox 360 was “most successful” because more people own 360’s than ps3’s.
Let us know why you think the Xbox 360 had more success (guessing sales here) than the Sony Playstation 3 and if you agree that its down to more 360’s being in homes worldwide. Also if this is the case, will that always happen will a lot of games on both systems or could we see things change in the future?

Call of Duty 4 is great online but this does not cost it anything from the camapign like the sacrifices bungie made in order to have a decent online play for halo.
But any way COD 4 is largely an online game. If I had a ps3 and 360 I would choose it on the 360 because of the better online service xbox live.
Here’s the thing, i’m an Xbox 360 owner and right now i’m probably supposed to say some stuff about why the 360 is better and how the PS3 sux but the truth is i couldn’t care less, we are all gamers enjoying our games and the only people who need to trash each others consoles and defend or attack sales numbers are sad fanboys with nothing better to do than troll, i don’t know why some people turn their gaming into a religion where their console is the only true god?
The 360 has more units sold world wide but especially in the US. FPS and COD4 specifically appeal heavily to the American audience. Since the 360 has a much larger footprint in the US than the PS3 it should be no surprise that they sell more COD4 units. Future game sales will not always follow this trend. If the game appeals to a broader audience then it will likely sell well on both platforms. PS3 sales are on the rise and if another price drop comes then the PS3 will be in more homes which would lead to more sales. Also if/when Sony improves the online service (works great for me so not sure what the complaints are) then this will lead to better sales. I think at the end of the day people buy these online games primarily based upon which system most of their friends have purchased it on.
Two people I know with PS3’s use it as a movie/media player. They don’t own a single game. All those I know with 360s use it exclusively for games, and have a different movie/media player. I personally own neither, but am leaning towards the 360, once the price drops.

the reason why is they old more copys is because xbox 360 came out a year before the ps3, but who cares who sells more im enjoing the game in my ps3 60gb!!

1) Ever since Halo, Xbox is far and away the top choice for an FPS. Even though it has alot of variety in it’s library, Xbox is known as an FPS console.
2) The controller is also far and away the top choice for playing an FPS.
3) The experience on Xbox Live is easy, customizable and flat out dominates the Playstation Network, 12 million PAYING Xbox Live subscribers pretty much clears that up. PSN isn’t even close to Xbox Live no matter what you may think it’s capable of or how Sony tries to spin it.
I have all 3 consoles and I like them all for different reasons.
Call me after this Holiday season and let me know who’s in the lead.
DUH!! Xbox360 has been out longer, so there are more units out in the market. WHAT A STUPID QUESTION…
Are you people idiots? You must be, as clearly a game like COD4 will sell more on 360 for two reasons:
1/ there are more 360’s than PS3 out there.
2/ 360 is a FPS platform, and little else.

With MGS4 out this summer, there is nothing out during the holiday to sell more PS3’s then 360. Resistance 2 won’t take out Gears of War 2 or Fable 2 or Banjo Kazooie or the new exclusive game from the Final Fantasy makers.
360 still has too much fire power this holiday…oh and netflix will definately bump up Xbox Live subscriptions as well.

Are you that dumb. Let me see the 360 had a year lead in sales, hence they have an almost 2 to 1 lead in consoles sold. Well you do the math. Maybe I will make it simple. If there are 100 360’s and 50 PS3’s with 100 COD 4 games sold how is the PS3 going to ever exceed the 360 in games sold? Why do dumb people get to post on the net?

Hey Guys, lets get this straight; if u believe in the all mighty like I do, then you will know without the least doubt that even Him, uses the Xbox 360 for His FPS gaming glory… and pretty everything else especially when spying on you kamergamers online… ya heard???!!!!
Point is, the 360 will almost always spit out hell banging games till the generation is over. Believe me guys, Papa Bill is seeing to it personally that it does. What on God’s game earth do you guys think he is doing now with that much time off??? Think, guys I say Think!!!
