Video: Is Old School Ninja Gaiden NES Game better than those released today?

The video we have for you below shows that of the old school Ninja Gaiden NES game and I do indeed remember playing this game, personally I prefer the graphics of today’s Ninja Gaiden that the old one but you cannot take away the fun factor we used to have with the old version.
As you might all be aware off is that Ninja Gaiden II demo hitting Xbox Live today but many of you still prefer the old school version, Ninja Gaiden is a good classic game that is still fun to play even of today’s standards and trust me still bloody hard to play, people of today love the all cool looking graphics but come old this is a classic game and you cannot take away the fact that the first ever Ninja Gaiden classic game was hot. Watching the video below did bring back some memories and got me thinking on the fact I really do need to dog this game out of my loft and have a go. I still have old computers and games consoles, so old I still have Commodore 64, Spectrum, and get this even the Dragon 32 plus PS One and the old school Xbox; they are classics I cannot get rid of them.
Some say the old school NES games are better than those released today. What do you think? Please watch the video below.
UPDATE: Ninja Gaiden II demo is on Xbox Live today, the demo was originally supposed to be available to all Xbox Live regions excluding Germany and India but now it turns out that you can add Canada and the US to that list, sorry this means Canadians or Americans there is no Ninja Gaiden II demo today.

Growing up in an age when 128k was thought of as having a lot of gaming power and a 500mb hard drive was “an insane amount” I have seen many changes to computing and gaming through the years. Some games cannot be improved upon, such as Worms, sure they can make worms 2 and world party but the concept of the game remains the same. The old “if it aint broke don’t fix it” saying works well here.

You therefore can not compare the style of todays games (GTA4 and say MGS4) to those produced way back in the day. Yes i loved playing games like Chuckie Egg, Manic Miner and the like the list is endless but i think because we expected less we were easily impressed. Now we demand faster, bigger, better all the time me included thats why we spend our money right? But the fact remains things were not better then just different. Different does not always point to better. We all loved them games, we all remember them with fun filled thoughts but they are no where near what we are playing now, sure we think they played better but thats only because there was nothing to look at all the games of then had was gameplay.
The argument should be….”Do modern games suffer poorer gameplay due to putting to much effort into graphics and speed etc”
now there is a hot topic lol
without a doubt.. i played 20 hours of Ninja Gaiden Sigma.. and although it was pretty cool and a good game by all accounts, it just didn’t cut it. I was looking to play something more similar to the old NES versions. Cut scenes, a kickin soundtrack, fast paced action and comic book style storyline. However, the new game disappointed me in exactly those areas. It’s more tomb raider than ninja gaiden although the action is there at times, it’s not as fast paced as the original. The main reason I loved the old one is that I “felt” like a ninja just running through the stages slashing enemies with blazing speed. And with every stage, I get rewarded with awesome cut scenes with a very memorable soundtrack. Ninja Gaiden 1+2 are two of my favorite games of all time and still are. There is some truth to Glenn’s statement. You can’t compare, but in all honesty, the old ones were more fun and had much more replay value and were more memorable.
