Get 3G HTC Touch Diamond or wait for June’s 3G Apple iPhone?

With the 3G HTC Touch Diamond being released before the 3G Apple iPhone, this could see some current iPhone users move from their nice Apple phone to a 3G HTC. I own a first generation iPhone and would love not only the 3G iPhone, but also the many improvements it could have (better camera, GPS, etc). Now this puts me in a position as the HTC Touch Diamond looks very cool, features 3G and a lot of other nice features that the current iPhone does not have and being one who hates waiting, what do you do?

Today, we are also hearing rumors on Engadget that AT&T has sent out a memo telling employees not to take a vacation between June 15 and July 12, now could this be because AT&T need all their employees for a busy 3G iPhone launch?

If this is true and we do see the 3G Apple iPhone in June/July, then that’s not long to wait and it would be worth waiting to then and get a real comparison on the 3G iPhone vs HTC Touch Diamond. At that point, we can make an informed decision about which phone is the best to get.

Other factors involved would include a comparison of Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 on the HTC Touch Diamond to the Mac OS on the iPhone, some phone users will know and love Windows Mobile, so for them its an easy choice. When the iPhone was first released, a friend who worked in an O2 store, said that many iPhone owners were coming back with problems because they did not know the Mac OS well, they were used to the Windows Mobile OS. It will be interesting to see what happens on the sales front in 2008.
