Five days after doing our first hands-on with the Nintendo Wii Fit, I can now report that I have quit the gym for the Wii Fit and amazing yet simple Balance Board. In the last five days, my whole family has been using the Wii Fit everyday and we have all seen improved results in not only weight, but also our core balance and this has led us to save money by leaving the gym.

The reason we choose to use Wii Fit and the Balance Board instead of the gym, is because the amount our bodies have improved in this short time, it’s amazing and something that was not expected from a games console. The Nintendo Wii has proven itself to be much more than its competitors (The Sony PS3 and Xbox 360), one example is just last night when we had a group of friends over, our Sony PS3 did not get touched and I had just purchased GTA 4 as well.

As summer is approaching I will be outside jogging, but with one hour of step, hula, muscle workouts, yoga and more, this is more than enough to burn calories, increase muscle and strength and improve our balance. If you have used the Wii Fit for a week and everyday you will know what I mean, if you have not then I suggest you go to a friend or buy the product to see how good Wii Fit really is.

This is just one story of how our gym has been replaced by a better product, although we will still jog outside. Tell us your story and experience with Nintendo’s Wii Fit. Also let me point out that our local health club/gym does not let children use the gym (only swimming), so my son and daughter are getting more exercise at home thanks to Wii Fit.

I noticed instant results on wii fit. One day i would lose 1lb the next i would lose 2lb and the next ill lose 3lb. I noticed the change in my body. I was fat but now all that has almost gone. I was only working out on it for 6 days and noticed mega results. I recommend everyone to go pick up a wii fit board.

Mine is still packaged, I’m planning to open it tonight and do some exercise. I usually go for a 20 min jog in the morning, but can’t always go in case it rains, so Wii Fit will come in very handy. I was thinking of joining the local gym, David Lloyds is charging £50 a month… No thanks, I think Wii Fit is my new gym.

… I can see a lot of offers and reduced prices for gyms as more people spend £69.99 on Wii Fit, and stop using expensive gyms!!

I have played it every day since friday and I too have noticed dramatic effects. I had a perfect BMI already but playing the muscle workouts showed just how weak I was. Now I can feel muscles I never knew I had

I have used the Wii Fit board twice, already I have pain, not a joint problem, its a sort of nice pain you get when you work out for the 1st time in ages and your muscles ache. I seems to have some muscles I never used before, they are suddenly coming to life and saying….I am here. Really I can’t say how good this Wii Fit really is. I am impressed and not easily so. The only down point I can think of is that some of the graphics could be better but it does not impact game play at all just surprised that some of it is so blocky.

I have used it 3 days out of the last 6 we have owend it and it has made a difference, similar to the stories above. But can’t see why you would have to leave the gym, I still go swimming and what a difference putting both together has made. In just 3 days (3 hours play) I’m starting to tone muscles.
    But the downside.
To begin with the workouts are great, even the yoga which I never thought I would do really helps you tone and your balance. And the boxing and jogging are excellent.
As you progress you earn time credits which unlock more routines, excerices and games, but there aren’t a great deal and I’ve already unlocked most now. The next step will be to do more repetitions but I can see it getting very tedious and boring, like going to the gym!!!
I hope Nintendo or other games developers can follow up with other fitness games otherwise I can’t see me using it long term which is a shame as it is an amazing piece of kit which acyually lives up the the hype.
