Learning New Call of Duty 4 Maps: Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers report

It was great news for Sony PS3 owners that they did not have to wait as long as first thought for the new Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack, the early May Playstation 3 release date was changed to Thursday April 24th and this was for both North America and Europe. Some gamers reported not being able to see the download in the PSN store while others could, so it would have been rolled out across Europe and the U.S. in stages.

The last maps were very good but many Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers were crying out for more maps, on the old maps I was getting pretty good and would be in first or second place nine times out of ten. The new maps are another story, sadly I have only had time to play them for a few hours but I am certainly not in the top 3 places yet. It will take time to get to know all the areas of the maps and the good places to go where you can cover all your angles, but this is not the same for all gamers as some of you have already mastered the new maps.

My favorite looking map is Creek, this is just what COD4 needed and at the same time I find it the hardest to play as it could have its named changed to Sniper Country. Taking your time is surely key to playing Creek, but also not to run out in the open just to get snipered every 10 seconds. It will be the same as starting all over again for myself as I do take time to learn a new map, but when that happens things become much more easy.

If you have downloaded the new Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack, how are you finding them?

Do you have problems learning the new COD4 maps and what map is your favorite?

It takes a while to get used to the new maps. Those who got the new maps where kind of forced to play them as you could only play those maps to get double points.

All the maps where good. China Town is great with several building you can get into. Creeks is great for sniping. Broadcast is just a fun place to fight given the multiple corridors in the building.

The second picture you have posted with the downed helicopter, WHERE IS IT FROM??? It is not one of the new maps but not in single player either, could be a map for the future??

  3. Adam says:

Alex, that picture is from the single-player mission, ‘Heat’, and I believe it is also the MP map Creek.
